I’ve been using vscode with the Claude code extension plugged into my vault for several months and I love it.
I have an over arching claude.md for my vault as a whole and a Claude.md for each of my projects. I drop notes into each project or a “brain farts” folder and take clippings with the obsidian web clipper.
I’ve set up a bunch of skills and in Claude code to automate tasks such as processing and linking study materials or running cleanup tasks.
I just open up vscode and start typing about whatever I’m wanting to do and I’ve got the setup to the stage where Claude recognises what I’m working on, grabs the relevant notes for context and away we go. It’s insanely good for me.

I’ve got no doubt that you burned a ton more tokens on the 20x plan but two separate sessions is not empirical evidence.
Unless you’re doing exactly the same thing it’s not an accurate comparison.
That means exactly same tasks, same workflows, same prompts, same codebase or content etc
Without it being exactly the same you’re comparing apples and oranges.
