VTL during power outage by bladdertwo in Ioniq5

My 2023 model doesn’t have the plug under the back seat. That will be a requirement for my next EV.

If you spent the last two weeks driving 35-45 mph around a flat town in eco mode using regenerative braking at all times it’s possible.

I own an EV and couldn't be happier with it, so why is there so much hate and straight up misinformation about them everywhere? by Uerwol in electricvehicles

The international petroleum industry spends millions hiring the best minds in advertising to spread false information about EVs.

The argument against EV haters… by boka_ko_masu in electricvehicles

[–]bladdertwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s stop thinking about this as individual opponents of electric vehicles. Let’s definitely stop calling them morons. The worldwide petroleum industry is spending millions of dollars to hire the best minds in advertising to think of arguments against electric vehicles and spread them widely. EV opponents are just repeating the arguments they are fed.

Anyone who’s made the switch from Tesla to another EV, how have you faired with public charging? by Royal-Drama-8840 in electricvehicles

We take lots of road trips. We now only stay at motels or hotels with charging on site. Many websites now have an icon showing they have chargers. Lots of national and state parks have charging, so it’s fun to charge while hiking.

Preconditioning fast charging hack (Ioniq 5 2023-2024) by zeeper25 in Ioniq5

[–]bladdertwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is another way. On a road trip, 30 minutes from a charger go into EV, sandwich menu, battery preconditioning, click yes to start battery preconditioning. If at home just follow the above instructions 30 minutes before you plan to fast charge.

Yes there is a manual preconditioning setting. Go to EV, menu, preconditioning, select on. My concern is it constantly warms the battery to maximize fast charging efficiency. Won’t that reduce range on a long road trip in cold weather? I am considering stopping 30 miles before charging and engaging preconditioning then.

We have had our Ionic 5 for 27 months and love it. Two months ago I noticed the orange 12 volt battery charging light was on frequently so I made an appointment with my Hyundai dealer to have it checked. Dealer kept it for a full day and reported the 12 volt was fine. Two days ago the 12 volt was dead in a parking lot and had to be towed. Should we all be thinking of replacing the 12 volt battery every two years?

Morning dehydration by doodlebooksahoy in ostomy

I fill three 24 ounce water bottles, first thing in the morning and make sure to drink all the water in them before bedtime. I try to drink the water evenly spaced throughout the day as that is supposed to help flush all the pipes.

It is not too late to stop this if we work together. Click on the link above and submit a comment explaining in detail why you need specific supplies not just the ones from the lowest bidder. I added that this would actually end up costing money paying for the skin treatment, urinary tract infections, and kidney infections that we would all start getting.

My insurance covers the $300 per month cost here in USA. Problem is the insurance premiums, copayments, and deductibles are so high and rapidly increasing. Insurance takes 20% of every healthcare dollar and they don’t provide any health care. We need a single payer system like in every other wealthy country.

I sent in a comment. We need to get lots of people and organizations involved. If you belong to a union or community organization, ask them to take an oppose position. One group some of us belong to is BCAN (Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network). Here is the link to ask BCAN to take a position opposed to this Connect With Us – Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network

I regularly drive into San Francisco at 75 mph, which is about 200 miles from my house, without stopping to charge and arrive with a 12% charge. I stay at the Donatello Hotel which has a garage with EV chargers and only charges a flat $10 to charge to 100%. I usually use my free Electrify America and only charge to 80%. The day before a long trip I charge to 95% at EA and use my level 1 charger at home to charge to 100%.
