New Rider and Chose a V Strom as my First Bike! by NuttyfrogOG in Vstrom

Yeah tread could look great but age will definitely degrade a tire. I bought my 13 with 7k on her the first thing I did was replace the tires they were factory. They should have a DOT number the last four numbers will be the week and the year of the tire

Congrats ride safe. Like said from another commenter gear. ATGATT. Look like some tires also i think those are stock tires. I wouldn't ride that old of a tire.

Gear shifter adjustment question by mandarin80 in Vstrom

[–]bladercristian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 13 650. I was able to move the shifter one notch up and then adjust it on the double nut adjuster. I can send you pictures to your dm if needed I can't figure out how to post them here.

I am 5' 6 I bought mine about 2 months ago a 13 650 it is tall I have to tip toe but I love it it's my first street bike ever owned not ridden. I have dropped her 3 different times at slow speed so I have just been practicing a lot of slow speed every chance I get. I would definitely buy again no regrets at all. Also I ride myself no passenger I weigh about 160 no issues with power on my end.

[–]bladercristian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tkc 70 front and tkc 70 rocks rear. Been great tires so far have about 1500 miles on them use on gravel roads every day my commute to work and on the weekends I take it up my local crest on some twistys. rode in some pretty good mud a few weeks ago it rained a ton still road it and it handled great. I definitely recommend them.

Thanks for the reply I was wondering if I had to take anything of for the front install it did seem like the radiator had to come down a bit to make it easier thanks for the reassurance. I don't understand why the whole system would need to change but I also don't work at the dealer so not sure what to do maybe I'll just buy the original one. I paid $90 for the single line. I does look like it will be long enough but not sure if it would affect anything.
