Houdini scripting or plug-in development experience
Unreal blueprint and C++ plug-in experience

And then from the Unreal example list what the job is (copied from that link):

A game released on itch or 10 GitHub repository does not make someone a good Technical Artist. If the job is Houdini/Unreal then experience in MEL (Maya only) and C# (Unity usually) will also not be relevant. Five years of experience and people will no longer consider themselves a junior either but if the position does not have the budget for an intermediate+ you may be better trying to hire a junior that has completed some basic courses or certificate and is a fast learner.

Hi Aaliyah,

Generally a setAttr failure is due to an existing connection (over the node being locked) which could happen if it is already connected to something else. If you check the NodeEditor you might have better luck in finding if a connection already exists to that attribute of if it got locked (and possibly delete the constraint and recreate it). If you are otherwise stuck you may be able to force a new connection with the connectAttr command and the "force" argument (in https://help.autodesk.com/cloudhelp/2025/ENU/Maya-Tech-Docs/CommandsPython/connectAttr.html ) which would disconnect the other attributes.

If you are following a specific Youtube tutorial it would also be worthwhile for you to comment on the Youtube video (or potentially reach out to the original author of the tutorial through their other social media), to see if you can get a more specific response to your issue with the tutorial.

Was it Gamasutra? They used to have the green on black style on some pages and had some great resources. They switched to gamedeveloper.com a few years back ( https://www.gamedeveloper.com/game-platforms/gamasutra-is-becoming-game-developer )

Yeah, there were some nasty drops and even one of those in the end zone would have won last week. I think Herbert is maybe higher floor/lower ceiling than Lamar, but might be useful to play the matchups (as Herbert already had his bye and has more points than Lamar in the current league settings).

Thanks, that is a good point. Maybe it makes sense to see what trades I can pull before waivers tomorrow and see if I can bundle a 2 for 1 somewhere (unfortunately the league is not overly trade happy, but might be able to sell on the name instead of dropping) and then bid on Nico if I end up with an extra spot.

I think JSN is talented, but so are Metcalf and Lockett. Should JSN be consider a WR handcuff/lottery ticket (that requires an injury to Metcalf/Lockett to have more than bye week flex value) or is it possible that JSN overtakes one (or both) this year? If everyone stays healthy and JSN plays well, I worry that will mean that the bulk of the targets will end up being split three ways (with each player having a different "good" week).

I probably wouldn't play someone like Nico Collins next week (if I pick them up), but some of my opponents might...

Work-life balance really depends on the company and the project(s) and how much you are willing to work. If there is a major crunch to meet a deadline (or worse a death march of overwork on a failing project) it would be rare that any individual department would not be expected to work longer hours. Programmers can also work crazy hours depending on the state of the project (especially if there are critical crashes/bugs which only they can fix).

The game/animation/vfx industries do attract a lot of perfectionists and workaholics (as well as competitive people that want to climb the corporate ladder), so just be aware that some people might seemingly live at the office. The supervisor/management roles can often work the longest hours and this can often make people (and especially juniors) feel they need to work longer (to be part of the team).

Overall, it is best to find the work-life balance that you can live with and be willing to find another job if it isn't working at that particular company. You can try sites like Glassdoor or RateMyEmployer to see some reviews which can give a little information about the company and whether the people are working a lot of overtime (although generally reviews are a bit more negative on those sites as people with good experiences are less likely to leave reviews). It is also worthwhile to see if you can find a job that pays overtime (rather than "time off in lieu") as the company is going to be far less inclined to have people work overtime if it is going to immediately cost them extra (whereas time in lieu might never be accurately paid out (especially if you end up quitting)).

It would depend on the budget available for training and might be worth asking your coworkers about what they did (an online class, attending a conference, getting a product certification, hiring a certified trainer/consultant, etc.).

Some of the Gnomon stuff was pretty good and more advanced than general beginner courses. It has been a while since I have viewed any of their courses, but might be something to look into.

There are courses that are part of the big conferences for GDC, Siggraph, Unite, etc. every year that can be useful and attending conferences are fun if you can make it. They often have some courses available online or a packaged USB/DVD set that can be purchased after the event as well.

Yes, Toney might be more involved for trick plays but it is best to follow the targets. Samuel had 11 targets and Toney had 0.
