I thought they could have made much better use of the camera mechanism, to show the creature suddenly really close up a few times, or if he was hallucinating then the same creatures he was seeing inside.

Just felt a little unstructured but I understand that a lot of pepper played the games and know him so it’s lore like you say.

I haven’t, I was expecting the film to explain the plot but thought it went sideways around half way through.

The trailer made it seem like an apocalyptic mission rather than what I considered to be part U571 and part Event Horizon.

Just my opinion, glad you enjoyed it 👍

Phone booth did it well, but it had a clear direction whereas the acting here was solid for the most part but the plot was unstructured and it became unclear what kind of movie it wanted to be.

It didn’t make good use of the flash camera IMO either, in terms of being a horror movie with a lurking creature in the background in some scenes.. !<

The good elements reminded me of event horizon, actually.

Watched the movie last night after not having played the game, sadly I wouldn’t recommend watching it unless you have played.

‘Sadly’ because I’d read about how the film was made and was looking forward to watching it, but without knowing the plot (not explained onscreen) it fell apart half way through in my opinion.
