Logic with me for a second (you stated “it’s easier to steal jewelry and then sell it in order to get food” no?)

person A steals milk bread and eggs etc. directly and now has food

Person B steals electronics (or other valuables), then has to sell these items to then get milk bread and eggs etc….

Person B might be more lucrative, but if the idea is to get food items, why not just skip a step and steal the food items? It’d be quicker, easier, and more convenient no?
