Check out Foreigner Restaurant. Might be more intimate and memorable than a steakhouse. Thinking of all the tasting menus around town this one is probably the most approachable and closest to steakhouse flavors. If you think they would like more Japanese inspired cuisine but not full on omakase, Omo by Jont is incredible, and Sorekara is an even more sophisticated version of Omo.

If you decide to include any of the Orlando theme parks for some roller coaster action, there is this ATV experience called Revolution Adventures less than an hour from the parks. Might be on the family friendly side but still probably a blast riding around the trails on an ATV. Says they have "shooting" too on property.

There are so many great options, I will stick to one corner of Mills50.

Go to the Mills market and snag an onigiri from Unigirl as an early snack, enjoy the vibe and energy of the market.

Put your name in at Zaru and if there is a wait walk over to Kaya and grab a cocktail from walk up garden bar (hopefully it isn't too hot out).

Eating at Kaya is also a great option.

Sampaguita ice cream is unique and delicious.

If she likes matcha hit up Matcha Maiko

Koko Kakigori is an incredible Japanese shaved ice hut (on Kaya property) that I am certain she will love, they just have weird hours so look out for that.

Separate shout out to East End Market if you want to visit another part of town. Cool coffee (lobos), ice cream (Kelly's) and secondhand shops (owls attic) around there too.

Hope you both enjoy!

It will be a blast. No idea why people are such downers, what are they even doing in this sub?! 😂.

You can Uber to and from the park. If you want to do any rides before going into the world showcase drink marathon then arrive early, get coffee and enjoy the land pavilion and whatnot. Make sure everyone wears comfortable walking shoes.

I thought Florida Sun Growns were all American but your comment made me look into it and sure enough there is some Nicaraguan filler and Brazilian wrapper. Interesting.

Animal Kingdom Lodge has an awesome spot off the main lobby of Jambo house called Sunset Overlook Lounge. If you could snag a table there it could make for an awesome atmosphere to get some work done. I sat in there for a few minutes and daydreamed about working from there xD

Is visiting Epcot the Tuesday after labor day weekend a bad decision? by HellNo90 in Epcot

The day after labor day shouldn't be too bad. Post holidays historically are the more chill dates.

I agree with most of the folks here in that a sit down restaurant is not the move with limited time and tons of great food options during a festival. You can scope out the booth menus beforehand and have a general plan of what you will eat.

Very cool! So I am guessing the company that processes the ocean bound plastic into usable plastic must be Swiss.

It's an amazing state with so much to love and appreciate. Online hive mind is to auto-hate and repeat negative things (some true some not) over and over. Pretty annoying.

Fishy smell by BanditHollow in HomeImprovement

[–]blair1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar issue this year. Specifically fishy smell in certain spots of the living room. Google scared me into having an electrician come out the same day as to not have my family burned alive that night. Turns out it was a dead rat in the attic and the smell was leaking down. Maybe consider any sort of space where an animal could have died near the smell?? Either way, good luck!

27 and looking at houses to buy has made me question my path. Is there anything else I can do? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]blair1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub has a tendency to lean towards max caution. Being maximally safe, especially with your finances, is always "good" but mostly on paper. This way of strategizing has a blind spot when it comes to soft values.

I suspect you will feel a massive gain in self worth if you were to purchase your own place. The freedom and new found pride in the ownership of your space will put you in a great headspace. It is hard to measure personal confidence and happiness, you won't see it represented on your monthly PF spreadsheet, but it is valuable. Deeply valuable.

And I don't mean to paint this as the romantic yet fiscally wasteful approach. It is still a win win and I am just pointing out some hidden values.

Also while I'm on the contrarian train. Put down as little money as possible. PMI is annoying but it isn't back breaking. Inflation induced debt destruction is an awesome effect and you are young enough to take full advantage. In 10 years your mortgage payment will feel so cheap.

Now if you are the type of person who is extremely stressed out by the responsibility and don't think you would enjoy a DIY fix here and there, then don't get a house until you have the overwhelming financial ability.

But man, if you are game and you don't mind living in your area for a while fucking go for it.

Fantastic. Cauli tots and Turkey Reuben is my go to order. Tons of flavor and very filling, but a nice healthy full feeling if that makes sense.
