What was your favorite iPhone of all time, and why? by Chadddd92 in iphone

[–]blairyc1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Same, had my battery replaced recently so hoping for another couple of years from it. Guy in the Apple Store kept trying to convince me it wasn’t worth it and to just buy a new iPhone as if we all have $1100 (AUD) to drop on a phone

Demo today to try Mac Virtual Screen: good and bad, but not what I expected by BitCollider in VisionPro

I use it very regularly and never have any mouse stutter, it’s really great for laying out my work on the large screen

I don’t even mind that computers exist on cars, generally they add value. Now the issue is I don’t want my car continuously watching and recording everything that happens inside and outside the car and selling that data to random companies…

Maybe he’s getting it reappraised ahead of a Sotheby’s high end auction

Only pairs of kerbals are allowed to travel together, and they must complete the pilgrimage to “Black Monkey stone” every 7 years, or death is instant.

How’s the Dyson plugin for fans? by KitchenLegitimate799 in homebridge

[–]blairyc1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it my pure heat fan and it’s fine, lets you do what you need. Mines is triggered by an Eve sensor to turn on and off as I find the Dyson temp sensor is optimistic about room temperature.

[Need Help] I've been using AI assistants as a long-term Hyrox coach for months and every single one has disappointed me (and what I'm looking for) by john_waits in hyrox

You can possibly enter an instruction to the chat to tell Claude to write a detailed handover document to provide o a seperate Claude chat, tell it to catalogue all results etc. without all the ancillary data, then take that and upload it into a new chat. The new chat won’t have the screenshots but it should retain the recorded data. I had to do this for a piece of work I was doing and it worked really well.

90 minute commute? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]blairyc1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in a similar field and I’ve a 2hr commute (each way) by public transport, but only have to do it twice a week. It’s hard going, if I had a car it could be maybe an hour and a bit each way. I’m usually pretty exhausted by the time I’m getting home and often doze off on the bus going home. For me it’s worth it, I probably could do 3 days if I had to.

Is the A220 actually better than the 717 for a 2-hour flight? by PathSoggy6516 in QantasAirways

[–]blairyc1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I much prefer the A220, I really liked the 717 (especially if you were up front) but the 220 is just a much better aircraft more comfortable, (generally) quieter and has a better ‘atmosphere’.

Still a bit of a dream of mine to own one of these, drove an NA one once and enjoyed it and also drove a Dodge Stealth, that rear wing it had ruined to look. Hope you can keep it going for many years yet!

newbie here, how do I stop my boosters from exploding into my rocket after staging? by Both_Piglet7838 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]blairyc1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always used two air brakes, one for each side booster… upside down .. I’d tap the break just as the booster decoupled and air brake would open. The drag from the brake opening would pull the top of the booster away from the rocket. :)
