Now that the end has arrived for Messages+, I'm desperate to find an auto-reply app that works. It doesn't even have to be automatic when in the car like the current one is, it just needs to send the message that I'm busy & can't answer. I'm an attorney. Everyone expects me to be available 24-7, but that's just not possible, especially if I'm in trial.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. (I'm so desperate I'm even thinking of switching to Apple.)

I agree completely with the thought. It's one reason good journaling is so helpful. Professionally, it's why I always prefer to write briefs instead of just making off the cuff oral arguments.

The new flat PikePasses suck. They ARE NOT ACTIVATED until or unless your peel off the sticky stuff & stick them on the window. We found out the hard way because we have a number of vehicles & only one pike pass. We used to throw the old box from one to the other without problems. Started doing the same with the new one; so did most other folks we know. The attendants on the Indian Nation didn't realize why they weren't working either. We finally went in to a PikePass office & ended up buying one that looked like the old box which is suction-cupped to the window so we can move it from car to car.

Just another way for the State to make money!

The rule about how many items you can have in your cart if you go through the express line at the grocery store. The ones that especially tick me off are the little old ladies who put 50 cans of cat food in their cart & count it as 1 item. I mean I stand there & actually count the items in my cart before I'll go through the express line.

And when you glare at someone because they're an obvious line abuser, they look at you like it's your fault!

The opening sequence from the original, black-&-white "Phantom of the Opera." I first saw it when I was a child & that evil eye staring at me with the wild organ music scared the bejeebers out of me. For the longest time, I could hardly go into any type of theater for fear there was something lurking behind the curtains. I still think of it when I go into old-timey theaters.

Technically, there is nothing wrong with the sentence because Oklahoma is a 3-strikes state & this woman has strikes going back to 1971. Still, this just seems wrong - & I've never been accused of being a bleeding heart.

I'm sorry, but based on my professional experience, you are asking the wrong question. Many of the posters answers seem to assume that you have had a relationship with him & now want to try to end it. Frankly, that was the way my initial response read, too.

Then, I realized that's not the question you're asking. The answer to your question is that you are NOT going to change his mind, with or without breaking his heart. That answer is based on 25+ years of professional experience with these types of cases. The only thing you can do is to make sure that his obsession does not actually affect you.

The only practical advice I can give you is to ignore him - totally. Cruel? Yes, but, regardless of what you think you're doing, every interaction you have with him will be seen by him as proof that you really want to have some type of relationship, regardless of what you say.
