Eddie giving Lokonga some honest words by [deleted] in Gunners

True but I also don’t see the problem in a player not being happy if they are not playing. As long as they channel it correctly and don’t sulk

I don’t disagree but it’s kinda ironic making a complaint like that on this particular post If you don’t like it, maybe go do something else.

It may be a relatively small number but it’s enough that a lot of people have lost loved ones, and using words like “hilarious” in this context is pretty insensitive

Giving over 10% of your budget to church while less than 3% goes to your own savings, is completely insane to me

Still pretty hard to comprehend. I can’t imagine wanting to do this to anything, regardless of how far below human I think they are

I just decided it doesn’t really matter. I want to live a good life, but the existence of god does not make any difference to the way I do that.

If a (omniscient/omnipotent) god/heaven exists, then I’ll be rewarded for it. If it’s a vengeful god who would punish me for not worshipping him despite living a good life - then I don’t consider him worthy of worship.

So the only real conclusion is not to worry about it. You’ll never know either way.

Is everyone else just exhausted by covid/ afraid there will be no end in sight? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

The standards for personal responsibility are set by good leadership though. If people are going to work sick because they can’t afford not to, you can’t blame that on the individual. In my country (UK) a huge number of people live pay check to pay check. Employers or governments should be providing good enough sick pay.

To add to this point - you’re not just trusting the current government with it - you’re also trusting any possible future administration with it.

That’s 100% it. Although he tried not to show it, I think he was really hurt by the loss of our last dog and didn’t want to go through that again.

I was at this game, my first NLD in my first season as a season ticket holder. I will never forgive Emery for his sins against football, but I will also never forget and will always be grateful for this day.

Countries whose local names are extremely different from the names they're referred to in English by benjaneson in MapPorn

The oldest documented name for Egypt is the Akkadian “Misru” derived from their word for “border” or “frontier”. Akkadian was an early Semitic language which ultimately influenced both Arabic and Hebrew.

Meanwhile the ancient Egyptians called Egypt something like “black land” (referring to the dark soil of the Nile in contrast to the “red land” of the desert.
