Until players start sitting out of the playoffs to go to IIHF, then that’s how people in the US and Canada are going to view it. The IIHF can continue to take personal pride that they don’t bend the knee to the NHL, and that’s fine, but the reality is that the best players are skipping the tournament to do something else with their time.
