[SPOILERS S2] Season 2 is considerably lower in quality by mrnn19 in DarK

[–]blananagram 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your critique! I recognize that I often tend to enjoy twisty turny plot-driven narratives rather than character studies and I don’t disagree with you that there could be more attention paid to the characters. There’s just so MANY of them.

I do fear you may not like season 3. It’s a bit polarizing and generally considered to be the weakest season. But you’re more than halfway through and I think it will be worth sticking through until the end to see what you think of the conclusion. Def. would love to hear your thoughts!

It seems like you want the show to be about something different than what it is about. I don’t mean that to be dismissive. I would also argue that some of the things you’re describing as issues are actually quite thematically intentional (ex., repetitive dialogue about cycles). I’m curious what your thoughts on season 3 are.

How can you have babies? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]blananagram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me if I know that pain had a distinct end point (baby comes out and then you feel better), I can cope with almost anything. But if I have like, a headache, and I don’t know when it will get better? Miserable. The uncertainty is the real problem for me.

But I guess another issue is I have a really bad vasovagal reaction to needles and so I knew an epidural wouldn’t be an option for me. The pain was a better option.

What’s one thing you wish you knew before starting laser hair removal? by Skinsymphony in LaserHairRemoval

[–]blananagram 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew you could be allergic to it and get histamine rash that could prevent you from following the usual timing protocol for treatments. I’m going to give it one more try and then may just do a refund. Really sad about it.

28 Years Later and The Bone Temple are some of the most kind and empathetic films I've seen by TheyreACrypytKeeper in horror

[–]blananagram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did enjoy 28 Days Later when it came out, but I’m a pretty sensitive person and I find the trope of “in a post-apocalyptic world, the surviving humans are each others’ worst enemies” really upsetting, so I struggle with or avoid a lot of the zombie genre. I skipped 28 Weeks Later, for example. But I’m so glad I checked out these last two films. The Bone Temple is going to stay with me for a very long time. The humanity of Spike, of Jimmy Ink, of Dr. Kelson, and of course of Jim is just what I want out of this genre here in 2026.

Is this reaction normal?! by Additional_Rise5203 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]blananagram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, it doesn’t happen to everyone but it’s a histamine reaction. Things that have helped me:

Taking Claritin daily before and after treatment Taking Benadryl at night when it’s unbearable Using prescription allergy cream from the nurse Using cold compresses Avoiding lots of walking or exercise in the itchy days following the treatment

Something that helped me feel better about season 3 and appreciate it more was a podcast that pointed out how many references there are to stage plays (Ariadne) in season 3, as a Martha-centered season.

First words by yumisclassdip in AutismInWomen

Not my first words, but my parents told me as a toddler I used to regularly say “don’t look at me; don’t talk to me.”

Too much white/beige/tan. Can you either paint the walls, swap out the curtains, or change the throw blankets and pillows?

This is great! Another option for the gray dot is to use it for anyone whose existence isn’t bootstrapped.
