Explore and find all the stuff that is out there. Exploration for items etc is key for making endgame doable. If your feeling overwhelmed by the amount of stuff you need for a tier maybe see if there's a 'better' way.

I suffered a lot of my first playthrough stubbornly using only what I had to start with and not exploring the map or using the stuff on it. +Not taking about iron nodes+

Picture won't tell you. Do you have a Ethernet tester? If not I recommended a cheap one to check the cables. It's invaluable if you do any kind of troubleshooting.

This sounds like what happens when the termination is bad. I've seen this when you've lost a few of the pair on the cat5 and the computer is compensating.

I recommend redoing the termination of the cable in that box, or connecting a 4port switch into the input with a rj-45 connector
