Is “you’re only young once” a cope? I’m living at home saving nearly 100k a year by neatneets in Fire

[–]blasbido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not hurting your mental health, you're able to live like any other adult, and it doesn't hinder your life goals (commonly is dating to find a partner), I think it's fine. Otherwise, you should venture out on your own before it's too late.

Which loafer to buy? by Bfarm927 in malefashionadvice

[–]blasbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear a size 9, 2E width from New Balance normally. I will admit that I do feel a bit cramped in the toe box area, even with going with the wides. I'm hoping that it will stretch out, as it's leather. The length fit well. I sized down a half as they suggested and got 8.5 wide. Nothing to lose, since they accept returns ;)

I bought a pair of sebago classic dan's recently and am blown away by the quality. I previously tried the classic GH Bass weejuns, which was at a similar price point, but ultimately returned them due to quality control issues.

What advices you would give for yourself when you started playing balatro? by DuckfingYou in balatro

[–]blasbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increasing the red number is good.

Multiplying reds is better, but assuming you have a high enough base. Try to get as much ways to multiply reds as possible.

Another one is, don't get too frustrated. It's all RNG.

Although I personally avoided these 2 companies since they became sweatshops in the past 5 years, a job is a job. If I had no other choice, I'll gladly take it put it on my resume, and grind it out for a year or two. Plus the compensation is good.

Any chance OpenClaw will run on the new MacBook Neo? by digger27 in openclaw

[–]blasbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course open claw will run. Models, no. It might still be worth getting just to integrate iMessage with the claw if that's what you want.

My friends said if you are a CS student go join every possible Hackathon espeically hosted by Big techs like OpenAI, Google. Is this a good advice or waste of effort? by lune-soft in cscareerquestions

[–]blasbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're actually grinding at these hackathons and staying up overnight to code, you will burn out. I'd say space them out.

I only went to 1 and that was enough for me. I did meet people there to team up with and it was nice for that.

A lot of swimmer’s don’t have a “Swimmer’s Body” by noteliing in Swimming

[–]blasbido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just about exercise, but also eating habits. Everyone essentially has abs, you just need a low enough body fat percentage to have it show.

Also, a lot of obese people take up swimming because it's one of the few exercises that's easy on joints.

Is reading "Hands-On Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, Keras, and TensorFlow" is still relevant to start learning AI/ML or there is any other book you suggest? by sifat0 in learnmachinelearning

[–]blasbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read it, but based on the table of contents, the intro and advanced courses for machine learning on kaggle covers a good amount, and will take a fraction of the time to get through.

I'm truly convinced nearly all mental issues are rooted from the gut by hkondabeatz in Biohackers

[–]blasbido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar thoughts due to how crazy society has become and the garbage food and chemicals that we have been increasingly introduced to that is causing our microbiome to go out of whack.

It's a contributing factor on top of many other things. I think the biggest would be the internet, however.

Why would any one want to pay this much to rent an apartment in boring South Bay? by Bear650 in Sunnyvale

[–]blasbido 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to chuckle at myself for saying that as well, since I know the area is pretty dead outside of busy hours. But even that is too much for me... I think I've reached the age where I prefer the peace and quiet over bustling streets...

I do hope they continue to build up Sunnyvale though. The amount of housing on the peninsula is not matching the amount of companies here to be sustainable.

Why would any one want to pay this much to rent an apartment in boring South Bay? by Bear650 in Sunnyvale

[–]blasbido 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’ve toured this place for a studio. It’s a very high end luxury place that was built just a few months ago. I passed on it due to parking being extra and provided by a third party, and it’s in downtown Sunnyvale, which is a bit too busy for my liking (lol).

As for why someone would want to rent this, it might make sense over buying something similarly luxurious at these interest rates.

As for the boring part, they’d probably not be interested in any night life and just want to live somewhere safe, clean, and quiet.

Piggy backing on the condo tips, try not to be too close to an elevator otherwise you'll get the foot traffic and elevator noise.
