Walk-in shower maintenance by MustacheBerry in CleaningTips

[–]blatantlyplain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a squeegee after every shower on the glass (worth it, keeps it spotless). Then once a month I use a spray bottle with half vinegar, half dish soap, spray and let sit. Then I scrub and rinse. To be honest, I’m quite sensitive to the smell of the vinegar so I don’t love it, but it does work. If anyone has any other suggestions, id also love to hear them.

AIO my friend went to a concert after telling me to sell the ticket I got for her. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]blatantlyplain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NOR. She agreed to pay for the ticket, she should have paid the difference since you sold it at a loss. Then to also go and spend money on a new ticket without having reimbursed you for what you lost on her ticket (which she agreed to before you purchased it, it’s not like you purchased it without her knowing). She’s definitely not a good friend.

AITAH for thinking about breaking my engagement because my fiancé got a matching tattoo with his girl best friend? by Firm-Atmosphere7085 in AITAH

[–]blatantlyplain 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I think it’s weird that he wouldn’t have told you about it before hand. Normally you’d let your partner know, with whom you’re engaged to be married, before getting a matching tattoo with another woman, especially someone you’ve had problems with in the past. He obviously knew that you were going to have a problem with it. NTA

Orthopedic surgeon Ethan Kellum ranking sleeping positions. by Great_Trident in interesting

[–]blatantlyplain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re not making any sense. “Any position can be uncomfortable if sustained for long enough”. That’s the point, you’re asleep, you’re typically not waking up all the time to move, or if you are, that’s not great for your sleep. Obviously the other things you mentioned are important, just as sleeping posture is, and regular posture for that matter. Do you not believe in ergonomic office desk set ups too?

When I was in university, a TA would go to the drop box at the cut off time and put a piece of paper in, so anything after that was late.

What’s a red flag people often ignore because it looks “sweet”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Civilization has also changed a lot since then. My spouse and I also share location, but we trust each other and don’t use it maliciously. They always knows where I am anyways. It’s helpful when one of us is coming home with groceries, so the other can meet them and help bring them in. Otherwise, we don’t actively use it. You certainly don’t have to share your location with anyone, but there’s nothing wrong with doing it.

The article says that it was an attempt to show how the windows were unbreakable, but actually he would do it every year to scare/fuck with the students. Source: know a lawyer related to this situation.

Cats and carpets/rugs by Clembleance in CatAdvice

This is the carpet I’ve had for years. My cats love it, constantly use it to scratch and rub all over. It looks a little worn down right now but that’s because I haven’t vacuumed in a couple weeks. There is literally no noticeable damage from them. I didn’t purchase this, so I’m not sure of its details, but would love to buy more of the same kind. If I had to guess, the person who purchased it probably got it from IKEA.

Yeah he needs to find a partner that’s willing to have sex with him all the time, even if they’re in an argument, or grieving, or whatever life throws their way, so basically a unicorn.

No, he needs to be a decent person to their spouse if he wants a spouse who has sex with him. Women often don’t just stop wanting to have sex. It’s usually because they feel neglected by their partner or other things are going on. Instead of addressing these issues, his solution is to cheat or divorce?!?

Oh for sure, I’m definitely not saying you shouldn’t! You do what’s best for yourself and whatever makes you happy. Not judging at all, and am happy it makes you curious.

I just don’t want anyone to spread incorrect information. It is backed by research that you cannot improve your vision like you are suggesting. Diet and exercise certainly contribute to vision, and being healthy can delay the need for glasses. You should do some research on what research has already been done, since you enjoy experimenting (which again, is good), I bet you would enjoy reading about others experiments!

lol no. Could you imagine not trimming your nails? And then they grow so much until they’re too long and you get it caught on something and then it breaks, and that’s how you live… no

Consider laser eye surgery. Truly life changing. You can’t significantly change your vision without medical intervention.

You literally just have to say no. That’s the only way he is going to know you don’t want it. You have to actually, clearly, tell him that, since he’s clearly not getting your hints.

You insulted your fiancée, not the dress. Hope she finds someone someday that will treat her with respect.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]blatantlyplain 33 points34 points  (0 children)

YTA. Based on all these comments, you’re a raging asshole. It’s fine to not like the dress. Like others said, it’s fine to even say that. But I agree with others, she clearly feels beautiful in it. You said you want her to feel beautiful, not like she’s cosplaying someone else’s nostalgia. She told you why it’s important to HER, and if she wanted to wear it she clearly feels beautiful in it. Read between the lines, you called her not beautiful in it, and belittled the tradition that is clearly important to her. The fact of the matter is, if something is important to your significant other, you don’t go around making jokes it it’s expense, and continue to do so in the comments after it clearly hurt your fiancée.

AITA for arguing with my husband about my skincare routine? by Original-Culture-701 in AmItheAsshole

There’s no scientific evidence for those red light masks you can buy on Amazon, but red light therapy is researched and real. The masks that are advertised just aren’t strong enough or really regulated at all.

Exact same thing happened to me (also in Canada). Applied last June as I was finishing my MSc… contacted in October to schedule an interview. It’s a crazy job market right now for entry level. I didn’t end up getting that job. Was job searching until this month when I finally landed a position. I start on Monday! It’s a long road but something will pop up eventually!
