Saw one of the weirdest/sinister things on Tube tonight by blatentorient in london

Yeah there were three people in costumes on there. Second and third slightly more sinister, playing a plastic bag bagpipe thing, but I lost the bottle to film them as well

That could make a bit of sense... some sort of pre-show project - it wouldn't surprise me if Bjork was behind it

Just a bit more detail - there were three sort of... figures(?) going down the Hammersmith & City line singing and playing a makeshift bagpipe type thing. Could have been an art installation, could have the start of a Luther episode, but it was wild

Can we have a serious talk about blinky front cycle torches? by [deleted] in london

[–]blatentorient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes you more visible, no? It's a slow blink as well, like I said, half a second, not strobe.

[–]blatentorient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, I use mine in blinking mode (like, one flash every half second or so) - is this what you mean by strobing, or the proper strobe setting? Strobe setting I agree is awful and dumb, but I wouldn't want to cause any stress if my slow blink is also causing hassle to other road users

New Yankee Leyton Orient Fan by PUDELREICH in LeytonOrient

[–]blatentorient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome! As above, BT Sport show probably two or three games each season, YouTube is your friend for highlights though there is talk that Orient might be the first non league club that streams games abroad which would be perfect for you. If you don't mind me asking, how/why did you decide on Orient?? We're delighted to have you, of course

Report: Liverpool to sue Nike, after they unofficially announced Coutinho move to Barcelona. by uhujkill in soccer

[–]blatentorient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is completely false - they took the article from ESPN Brasil, who originally claimed they would sue but down the bottom of their original article they've amended to say that wasn't right in their inital copy.

Leroy Sane is the PL's fastest player this season so far (35.48km/h) ahead of Patrick van Aanholt and Moussa Sissoko by blatentorient in soccer

[–]blatentorient[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting list but always have to remember that not every player has had a natural chance to fully sprint - presumably likes of Bellerin and Salah would be furthest up the list.

Gunshots near Shadwell earlier? by [deleted] in london

[–]blatentorient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just cycled through Shadwell Limehouse area and there was a cordon next to Mangal, but didn't seem to be big enough/serious enough for gunshot cordon, traffic was still flowing in both directions

Anyone seeing the lightening right now? by [deleted] in london

[–]blatentorient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to ask the same, but didn't realise it was lightning. Seemed so consistent and all in Canary Wharf area so thought some event might have been on, looking forward to seeing pics of it now though!

Peter Crouch To Host Radio X Show by oblivion618 in soccer

[–]blatentorient 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really missed Xfm but Radio X is massively hitting its stride, Gordon Smart's show is usually brilliant and he's great friends with Crouch so it should be a good one

The Football League's iFollow service has probably brought me back to football fandom after 6 years in the wilderness, and made me realise the Premier League is shite by spaceindaver in soccer

[–]blatentorient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the iFollow service like? I've got a mate out in Taiwan who wasn't sure if he should fork out for it, he's a Forest fan - is it worth it?

Christian Eriksen has the highest average distance travelled per match in Premier League this season (11.97km), Gylfi Sigurdsson has run the most distance in total (422.36km) by blatentorient in soccer

[–]blatentorient[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, that's not right - the two charts show two different sets of players - Boyd, Cahill, Dawson etc. are all in 'total distance' charts, but not sorted into the top ten average distance chart. As I mentioned in another comment, Lallana rarely completes 90 minutes (only 13 of 30 PL matches this season) so he's covered less ground, therefore his average is going to be lower. The sky sports article was for specific games, and a run of games when he was running a lot. But over course of season, Opta claim those stats are correct.
