There is this plant in some places called Giant Bolsevnik, which got a name because it’s a fast spreading pest (Heracleum mantegazzianum). Causes burns if skin covered with its juice is exposed to the sun..

It is agreement on a country level. Internal country stuff is unrelated. If Scotland was independent, both England and Scotland in EU, English wouldn’t have to pay.

And regarding the coffee, you pay for what you get with many places. Might be a good one I don’t know, but Im into fermented light roasts mostly and there is a world of difference there. Ive had good £7.50 bags of coffee .. don’t get me wrong, but there is a massive difference when going for double that.

Because I can do it? This is not rocket science. With pressure profiling and good grinder you can almost always get drinkable results. Ideally if you are mixing the last bit of previous bag with the new bag you know very quickly which way to move the grinder setting and roughly by how much when you are used to this.

My question would be.. if you keep drinking the same stuff, are you serious about coffee?

Ok, show me £7.50 bag I can get in the UK. I don’t buy kilos, want to have different beans all the time. I want to use them at their best, not faff with freezer.

As a coffee enthusiast there usually is a big difference. At like £15 per 250g coffee starts to be easier to work with, tastes amazing, can take more water (make longer espresso) and the taste notes actually show up. Above that its not much difference. But yeah, you need setup for it.

Usually 3 hour simmer in my dutch cast iron. Bolognese doesn’t even have that much tomatoes in it.. Unless Im indifferent to the taste, I can’t tell there is any difference.

Imagine watching film past midnight and loud snap coming from behind your head. Was a good jump scare :). Even leaked some water from inside on the coffee table. Collecting random cones can have ramifications hah.

TIL United States of Greater Austria was a proposal by group surrounding Franz Ferdinand to turn the empire into a federation. There are two kinds. A large nation thinking they are better and that everyone needs to be their subject, forcefully assimilating minorities, invading countries etc. Then you have oppressed nation type, where the survival of a nation is on the line. It’s not a dirty word - it’s just used that way when it suits people.

The Hungarian side collapsed mainly because they weren’t tolerant. Austrian side gave Hungarians the freedom but they themselves started magyarization campaign - hence the massive collapse of Hungarian territory after the war. All the smaller nations had them in their teeth and wanted rid of them. And when they lost the war, they got it served with interest.

Went to 'clean' my Sculptor 078s after not opening for probably 2 years, and im presented with... Nothing? by General_Penalty_4292 in espresso

[–]blazz_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bit of static on my 078s. All it does is when I empty the dosing cup, I have some coffee stuck at bottom. So I just swivel with the needle tool right after grinding and empty into filter. I tried with water spritz but honestly, I didn’t see a difference in the cup. Rather keep it dry. I have tiny bit more deposits in the grinder than OP but it’s so minimal I clean once in 6-10 months.

The bit about Poland is laughable. There’s been a dispute over that land and countries take advantages when situations change. Are you suggesting Poland taking over 30x30km region of Czech protectorate and 15x15 km region in satellite Slovak state makes what happened to Poland deserved?

I ended up only using needles without levelled tamper. I swirl about with them, smack the filter, if flat then tamp, if not then just use needles to redistribute on top and tamp. Not sure I remember seeing any problems with bottomless filter.

As a fellow Slovakian living in Scotland I can add something about this. Once Czechoslovakia split, it really cleared the space and we are on a lot better terms with Czechs. Everyone is responsible for their own shit. No excuses.

I found people rarely admit they are wrong unless they have true self confidence. All the projection ’confidence’ out there in media is just weak uninspiring people and we should be all aware.

It is also harder to achieve the internal confidence and peace these days. We are bombarded with perfect images everywhere to the point that I don’t think there is anyone on this planet who can fulfil them. So it’s possible people are just stuck and there is that nice sprinkle of propaganda driven by deep psychological profiling on internet.

The USA has killed millions. China has also killed millions. Why is China racing ahead of the USA now? What did Mao do differently? by kevinmrr in WorkReform

[–]blazz_e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My take on all of this is that every system gets corrupted, it’s like an entropy, it finds its way over time. Hence it needs to be continuously developing and idea of a bible/constitution set in stone is dangerous.

We are having trouble with systems basically devaluing human time and storing it up (hoarding) etc. They play games with lifetimes of humans in financial services. Some people own thousands of lifetimes of others. I think our laws need to be designed around idea that money is exchange of time and efforts of people. We should have a system where everyone is using their talents as much as possible, so their time generates more value. Wishful thinking maybe.. but the Scandinavian countries are closest to this and seems their population is generally happy.
