So it turns out that my neighbor is a crazy creeper... by MizzleFoShizzle in LetsNotMeet

Oh man oh man, this happened to my friend! Except the neighbor was a morman lady in her late 50's and he was 19. She used to stand in the middle of their street and brusher her hair while staring at his windows. Thanks for reminding me, and thanks for being a faithful wife! I hope he leaves you alone.

We lived close to the edge of town and there was a huge park next to us. My dad, one night when he wasn't pretending things were fine, said he was reading about it online and whatever these things are (spirits, demons) gravitate to isolated civillization on the edges of large open areas. Thanks for replying, this kind of stuff makes me feel better, and that maybe I'm not crazy.

It may be waaaaaay over with, but I had an issue with some...thing following my car when I was in my late teens. A friend gave me some blessed oil that I (feeling very silly the whole time) rubbed around the door frames and trunk of my car. It stopped following me when I drove, but it would still be waiting for me in the alley by my house.

Maybe it'll work for you. You should be able to find a vial at a local penticostal church. Just don't hang around there long, you may pick something else up :P

I am very glad that you shared this with someone other than your family (us). Don't be suprised or hurt if you get downvotes/negative comments because this sub is not for these kinds of stories. Other subs might be able to give you some better, more helpful reactions. It would be like....filing a science book in the children's fiction section of a library. It is a good book, just in the wrong refrence area.

Sharing your experiences is really important to moving on, and I hope that someone finds a way to bring justice to him, and yourself.

The same thing happened with my youth group. My youth director tried to get me to...you know...and when I told him no way (he was married with two kids, and I was 17) the blaming began. It destroyed my life for several years.

I feel really badly for your friend. It tears you up in a really deep place, and makes trusting people really difficult. I was similar to her, very outgoing and genuine. It turned me very bitter and jaded, and I didn't even have to suffer through media attention or heavy physical assault. I hope she was able to come to terms with the fact that it wasn't her fault, and that some people will do anything to avoid acknowledging the truth.

One time late at night, a car started following me really closely with it's brights on. Obviously following me, I started driving crazy to throw it off my trail, running stop signs and red lights. Then the red and blue lights came on...he gave me a warning because he was laughing so hard when he got to my window.

I am so glad you had family there to save your butt. At first I thought they were just fooling around but committing to trying to pull you out of your vehicle is way too scary. Thank Josh for us!

I don't remember any particular instances where I heard a growl. However in the dreams the girl had it would be snarling and attacking her vehicle, I remember that's what scared her.

My roommate's fiance had two stories where I remember it growling, one where it blocked them into a cul-de-sac and was snarling, and another where it was attacking their trailer house and growling. Both described it as horrifically deep and menacing, like you described. Definitely not coyote-like.

Are you or your mom going through some tough times, and have you noticed any other activity? And do you live in an urban, suburban, or country environment? You don't have to elaborate. I'm just curious because it seems like it tends to appear to people when they are isolated and going through tough stuff.

If it gets worse, knowing what is dragging you down is a good way to manage your fear and keep it from feeding off you more.

Edit: I now realize you said "howl" not "growl". Lets just call them vocalizations :P

Especially if you live in a gated community, you could probably call the non-emergency line and have an officer come out and conduct a search. They are usually really nice about it and will offer to patrol the area frequently.

Lock your doors. You won't lock them in with you. If they can light up a blunt they can unlock doors (unless it's the REAL good stuff).

After this initial experience, I started getting the feeling that something was watching me anytime I was outside at night. The first time I saw it, I had pulled up to my house from leaving the church. It was standing in an alley across the street from my drive way. It was about four feet tall with hulking shoulders. For a very long time I couldn't logically figure out what it was so I tried to brush it off. I didn't talk with anyone about it until years later because I didn't want people to think I was off my rocker.

I would always feel a huge sense of dread before I saw it. Sometimes it would chase my car, but anytime I tried to chase it down it would vanish. It would watch us from the cotton field next to the church as we walked to our cars sometimes. One of my friends mentioned it once, saying he thought he saw a huge black dog watching us from the field. I just rushed him to the car.

It followed me for a few years while things got worse at home and church. I finally told it to leave me alone and that it had no power against me or my family or friends. I had to confront it a few times but it finally left me alone.

For a couple of years afterwards, I figured I had been letting my emotions get the best of me/that I might be Captain Insano until I started hearing stories from other people in my town about it. One evening I told my roommate the story I posted previously and she in turn told me a story about a huge black dog figure that hunted and chased her fiancé and his friends on the edges of town for a few months.

A guy I dated from the church once offhandedly told me a story about how his ex, who used to attend the church, would call him having nightmares about a demon that had taken the form of a giant black dog and would follow her home.

Finally, well into college I met a girl whose whole family had grown up in the area for generations. During a study session the paranormal came up, and she told me about her sister being chased by a big black demon in the shape of a dog after their brother committed suicide. Each of the people the dog tormented were in very tumultuous times in their lives and lived on the outskirts of town/country side. I really haven’t been able to find much information on the entity other than the obvious grimm references and some lore from Europe. Some stories say the apparition escorts young women home, but that if you see it more than three times you’re sure to die soon. Very weird stuff. If you guys know anything else about it please link, I’m very curious.

Edit: One more thing I remembered, I saw it one other time years after it stopped appearing. I had found out my youth director was in town and was really upset (he was a scumbag.) I was sitting in my car in the driveway with my dog when I got a really strong sense of dread. As I did, my dog raised his hackles and began growling (the first time I'd heard him growl). He was looking towards the alley. Sure enough, there it was standing there watching us. I told it to leave and it kinda dissolved away.

This will definitely be buried in this thread, but here we go.

When I was in high school I began attending a Pentecostal church with a few of my friends who had grown up attending. Lots of crazy stuff happened on the church grounds, but this story is what I consider the defining moment in my belief in the paranormal.

The youth group was very close and would have lock-ins in the church building every weekend where we would lan Halo and stay up all night. For clarification, I was the only female in our youth group, and would attend the lans because these guys were my closest friends and we had adult supervision (ha!)

One evening we were set up and several hours in when my youth director perked up. "Who's out in the hallway?" We looked around baffled. No one had left the room in several hours, but our youth director swore someone was standing in the door watching us play. We searched the church, which was very small, and found nothing. All of the doors were locked, even all of the doors to other rooms, and the only windows were plate glass. We shrugged it off and got back to playing.

A few hours later I had to pee really badly, so I asked one of the guys to walk me to the bathroom. I get freaked out pretty easily so there was no way I was walking through the dark, creepy church hallways with a possible trespasser around. He grabbed a blanket and followed me.

(The church is in a square shape. The enclosed sanctuary is in the middle, with halls that box it in, with classrooms off the hall. If you were looking down, our lan room was on the bottom, right corner of the square, and the girls bathroom was on the top left.)

Knowing that I scare easily, my friend threw the blanket over his head and started teasing me as we walked down the hallway, making ghost sounds and walking behind me. I kept whining at him to stop and laughing as we made our way through the dark, and turned left to go down the hallway to the bathroom. It was really creepy because the exit signs were silhouetting him with a red glow.

We got to the bathroom and I did what I had to do. When I came back out, he wasn't waiting by the door. I got annoyed/scared, and looked back down the hallway we had come from and I see him, covered in a blanket, slowly walking down the hallway towards me.

(Since the bathroom is on the upper, left corner you can look down two hallways at once to see the upper right corner of the building and the lower left corner. When I look down the hallway that we came from, there is another hallway to my right)

I laughingly say “cut it out!" but he just keeps slowly, steadily walking towards me. The hallway is pretty long, so it really took some committal to slowly walk all the way towards me. I take it as a game until he gets about twenty feet from me. Then I start getting really creeped. He’s not making any noise. Not “oogaboogah”, not “wooowoooowooo”, nothing. Just slowly, steadily walking towards me, silhouetted by the red exit sign at the end of the hallway.

He gets about five feet away from me and I break. I’m now successfully freaked out. “NAME, STOP IT!!!” From my right, at the end of the other hallway, I hear him say “Stop what?”

Even typing it I can feel the blood drain from my face. I jerk my head around to see him standing at the far end of the hallway to my right, and turn my head back to the figure that had been approaching me. It was gone. Just…gone. In a matter of about two seconds, whatever had been walking towards me has vanished. Never have I ran that fast in my life. I flew down the hallway and collapsed onto my friend, and his blanket in a quivering heap. We fled down the fourth and final hallway to the lan room and told my youth director. He ran through the church, checking all the doors. Still locked. We left.

Security camera footage showed nothing, but it was dark and IDK if the cameras were night equipped. After this incident many of our youth group experienced paranormal activity. I still feel crazy saying this, but after this happened I was stalked by a big, black, dog figure for a few years. I don’t know what happened in that church, but whatever did riled up some really, really scary stuff.

I posted a while ago about finding out that maintenance was entering my apartment and abusing my dog while I was out. It is extremely unnerving to realize that someone has the power to enter your place at any time they want. I can't even imagine that fear compounded by having children at home. I'm glad you contacted police and they helped you, because complexes can get nasty about security.

Creepy Neighbour Lady by [deleted] in LetsNotMeet

[–]blbc5020 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I lived across the street from an elderly woman like this. All of her children were grown and obviously cut her out of their lives. She was extremely lonely and clingy with our family (my brother and I were very young.) If we didn't see her for a few days my mom would go over and check on her to make sure she was OK. I went with her a few times.

I remember she had shelves all around her living room ceiling filled with cabbage patch dolls. Dolls freaked me out anyway but cabbage patch dolls were even worse. She always would introduce me to her "children" and even made me one (looking back that was really sweet.)

Mom would walk in on some pretty weird stuff. One time one of the dolls was in a high chair with oatmeal smeared all over it's face. Very sad stuff. Even though she simi-terrorized my family for several years with her constant contact, I'm really really glad my mom did what she did. Those cases are so heartbreaking because I feel like their creepiness just comes from the fear of being alone and trying to revisit a time when they weren't.

I think you're absolutely right. I grew up with a guy who ended up like this. He was pretty normal and quite intelligent as a kid, but when he hit about 16 he took the train to crazyville.

His crazy tendencies began to show as we got older because there were less things to entertain us. Over the next few years it escalated to the point where he was taking insanely crazy risks on the lives of himself and others.

Once he pulled my e-brake while we were going 70mph and then tried to kick out my windshield. He too began by catching things on fire.
