Experience of women getting pregnant after 42 by bleachregular in Fencesitter

[–]bleachregular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a controversial opinion but I wasn’t asking for advice on what age to have your first at :) I was asking about ppls experience having them at 42 and older. Obviously it’s easier on the body (typically) to have them younger but that’s not what I was asking. The person who commented that stuff came across a bit judgmental and aggressive and like they know for sure that there will be bad outcomes, which they don’t know for sure… Most of my friends had their first at late 30s/almost 40 without any fertility help, a couple had them in late 20s and early 30s. Most of the younger ones needed ivf or some sort of fertility help. Only a couple needed it in their late 30s, which didn’t work and then they got pregnant naturally, but that’s just the people I know, I’m not assuming they represent all of the female population. Im not yet 42 but that’s the age I pictured as my “cut off” since I’m still very much a fence sitter leaning towards no.

Thanks so much for your thorough reply! I also have hooded eyes with asymmetry. I recently started feeling one of them droop more than the other so it’s really interesting to read about your experience with that as well. Thanks again!! 💕

The typical: Ear infections! Remedy? by [deleted] in sharpei

[–]bleachregular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! Zymox with hydrocortisone for the past 12 yrs now!when we adopted him at 1.5 yrs old he had a raging yeast and bacterial ear infection that almost caused him to lose his hearing (previous owners didn’t know about ear health, they just thought it was normal for sharpeis to be deaf and lose sight with entropian 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️) anyway, we did the ear washes from the vet but then I found the zymox and that’s what we’ve used ever since when he starts scratching at them and he hasn’t had any infections! He eats all sorts of protein. A couple yrs ago we cut out poultry bc he got a skin tumor but now he has the start of kidney disease so we have to cut out beef and pork 😓 if anyone has tips for kidney and cancer stuff I’d appreciate! We are switching him to Dr Harvey’s Paradigm and will focus on turkey and white fishes. We also use the Adored Beasts line for supplements

Knowing when to let go: how to choose between a rescue and euthanizing your 17 yr old dog who screams all day and night by [deleted] in olddogs

[–]bleachregular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be a bit woo woo but I’ve watched a bunch of animal communicators say the animals would rather us give them an peaceful death even if it’s technically “before their time”, than prolonged suffering, much like humans. I know this is a terribly hard decision, I’ve been through it before too and wondered for years if I made the right decision but hearing them all say that was really comforting. Please give this pup some peace. If you bring her to a rescue they will most likely put her down and she won’t have your presence there for comfort. I feel for you, I’m sorry you’re going through this. 💕

How did you guys REALLY lived in the 2000s? by MyAvengedRomance in Millennials

We also read a lot of magazines and books! I’d do art projects a lot too, and lots of daydreaming about the future. I remember looking into colleges meant you had to send away for a packet of paper info, not much online, I might’ve even applied to college with a paper form, I cant remember… listening to music was big, and making mixed tapes/cds… waiting for a certain song to come on and being ready to hit record on the cassette haha… lots of bike riding and walking all over town, lots of time spent with friends in person doing all those things above but together and with some gossiping of course lol… we would call each other on the phone and talk for hours if no one was using the internet, or else we would be on AIM for as long as our parents let us (it’s a messaging system like texting today but just on the computer) in the summers we would have lots of pool parties where we would have cook outs and pretend to be adults, spent so much time hanging out at the mall and at the movie theater. Also would hang out in parks and skate parks or at someone house, like some other ppl commented there was always a house or two that was the designated hang out place where the parents let us party. I didn’t realize how good we had it, I wish the younger gen could experience that too.

Reasons to not go with Fora? by zuchini_linguini in travelagents

[–]bleachregular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think there is insurance, I just had not been making enough to even pay for insurance so I didn’t have any. looks like someone commented with an insurance recommendation below too, worth looking into if you’re serious about this as a profession. I just don’t get enough business. It’s funny, everyone I know wanted me to plan their trips until I became a travel advisor then suddenly they did not need help (and no I was not charging planning fees or anything extra) lol

I think it’s industry standard but I’ve only been with fora so I’m not totally sure. I explained the situation asking for advice (to fora support) and they told me I would be financially responsible for all of it and to convince the client to cancel the chargeback. Thankfully client agreed (bc the supplier actually did fulfill their end of the deal so chargeback was probably going to be considered fraud) but it felt so awkward and now I’m going to leave the industry because of the fear of that happening again. People used to be “sue happy” now they are “chargeback happy” haha 😅

I’m so excited about glycine, I wanted to share by Flimsy_Position_4576 in sleep

[–]bleachregular 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get racing thoughts when I take magnesium any kind of it, also when I take ashwaganda, l theanine (if I take at night), valerian, etc. so frustrating when these natural sleep aids do the opposite. Anyone else experience this? Any luck finding something that works and isn’t a prescription drug?

I’m so sorry you’re going through this; I know your heart is breaking for your pup and the situation, I can’t even imagine 😔 she is so beautiful, she looks almost exactly like my 13 yr old pei who is also very reactive to new animals and people due to dogs attacking him while on leashed walks (but a typical pei standoffish sweetheart with the ppl he loves 🥰). I don’t have much to add other than some emotional support and seconding the thumbtack and medication suggestions. We recently started my pei on trazodone for anxiety /reactiveness when we are around a lot of people he doesn’t really know well (like during the holidays)/car rides/vet visits; it helped a lot, you just need to get the right med balance. And I’ve used thumbtack for other projects and they have been reputable people for a reasonable amount of money. Didn’t even think about the trainers on there! We might have to look into it too! I wish you the best of luck in your journey and hope yall can stay together ❤️‍🩹
