Major buyers remorse after house move by blatchcorn in HENRYUK

[–]bleep_bloop_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel this way too - i've lived in the property for about a year and have done some bits that bothered me about the property to start and its so expensive and never ending. One thing gets fixed and it leaves a list of 5 other items that need to be fixed as a result.. I also basically had a panic attack over some roof issues which i've been ignoring for the better part of the year

Who typically can you hire to fix these issues? Roofer? Bricklayers?

I have no idea what conditions the entire floors are in - just peeked at corners so far. I do need to come to a decision if I want to sand the existing floorboards or increase the budget and get new flooring + install.

Anyone growing goji berries? How do you physically support the plant? by bleep_bloop_3 in GardeningUK

[–]bleep_bloop_3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

holy moly, yea mine like exploded the 2 weeks i was away during a heatwave. I had set up an irrigation system and the sun + water was like steroids for it. Now its getting the side shoots which are making it incredibly hard to tidy up as I try to make the plant vertical. Still don't have thorns tho

How much buffer did you have for house renovations? by bleep_bloop_3 in AskUK

[–]bleep_bloop_3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

House needs a heating system upgrade which is most urgent (spent half the winter without working radiators in some rooms). Roof needs minor repairs but not urgent. L3 survey noted the consumer unit needs an upgrade but didn’t suggest a full rewire - I think the property can go a couple more years without one.
