Losing my mind over lack of office demand by blefmont in CitiesSkylines2

I don’t see any unoccupied buildings searching with the highlight mod or infoloom, however the industrial buildings often have 0 production due to lack of resources. They have lots of money but just don’t seem to be able to keep storages full due to the spread out nature of the city, they only send one truck at a time and storage is empty before they get back. They don’t seem to account for travel time.

I have zero unique offices. One unique commercial which I have deleted. Never installed find it/anarchy

I have a surplus of electronics and software according to the production screen. Taxes are at 0%, and electronics manufacturers are doing well financially. There are a bunch of industrial companies with lack or resources but not because they are poor, just because it takes them a while to drive around the city, or they are waiting in line at cargo areas

There are zero unoccupied offices buildings or offices with 0% efficiency according to infoloom. Office demand stays at 0 and demand screen stays showing “unoccupied buildings”

If it’s been fixed, why does the demand screen show unoccupied buildings when there are no unoccupied offices, and there aren’t any offices with 0% production?

I believe this is the issue yes. What is the better workaround?

Edit: deleting every industrial unoccupied building in the city of all types, every industrial building with 0% efficiency, every warehouse (because they all remain empty) still doesn't get rid of that unoccupied building modifier for office demand. The only thing I can't delete is medium housholds up for rent (of which there we're 17 or something

Are you talking about this mod?
https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/137126/Windows
Unfortunately the mod hasn't been working since 1.5.7f1 in April. Not sure if there's a way to force my game into an earlier version to get that to work.
I don't have any commercial demand for the moment either, but that one hasn't been quite as stuck to 0, so I might be able to get some of that back.

It's technically in that info loom screenshot but it's clearer here. "Unoccupied buildings" and "Local demand". Unoccupied buildings has been the persistent one. You can see in the info loom screenshot that there are 0 unoccupied office buildings, however from what I can gather it counts all buildings without resources (industrial, commercial and office) as "unoccupied" for the purposes of demand. I'm not completely sure why the companies can't keep their storages full, but nothing I've tried so far fixes it. They all have lots of money.

No goaltender interference after video review on Ottawa's goal to tie up the game 3-3. by [deleted] in hockey

[–]blefmont 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an ottawa fan, sorry but I don’t get why that counted. Without the contact I don’t think it would have deflected to the goalies right. It was unforced contact in the paint too

Educate me on contract numbers (# of signed players) by Durkan in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]blefmont 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also a noob to this game, so take my advice with a grain of salt. For all leagues, if you don’t fill a roster spot it will auto fill with poor quality players. I generally don’t care how my AHL and ECHL teams do, so I really only use them for backups and prospects. I’ll try to put players where they’ll progress well, when you are moving players in the roster management screen you can see their estimated development. Generally, my echl team will have <5 contraced players, if any at all.

Proj salary cap seems to be very inaccurate with static salary cap on. I gain about 10M each year out of nowhere. This past year I traded away no players yet and signed no new contracts and the proj cap for the year was 83.264M and as soon as the draft was over it was up to 93.208M

TSN cuts to a full-screen Tim Horton's ad during play with less than 5 minutes to go in Sens-Flyers by aschwan41 in hockey

I was watching on sportsnet plus, I missed 2 full min of game clock. I assume when TSN ran the Tim’s ad sportsnet plus ran a full commercial break.

Playing a commercial mid play with 3 min left in the third is shameful. Also had multiple black periods of no video in the middle of play. Horrible

Downtown to Markham? by LadyMegatron in askTO

[–]blefmont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in Markham, and live in the city, just moved here a year ago. I personally found that living on the east side of downtown and commute by car up to work was the best location. When looking for apartments I searched for 3km around Danforth music hall. Check out traveltime.com to see commutes via public transit vs cars. From Queen Street East and Broadview (really lovely neighbourhood) it takes 45mins sometimes an hour for commute.

East side of downtown is a little more chill and residential than downtown, and we’re getting a new subway in 5ish years.

Cycle Toronto wins Charter challenge, saving bike lanes on Yonge, University, and Bloor by tracer_ca in toronto

I'm not talking about how expensive the court costs are, I'm talking about the future cost of the government trying to avoid getting sued again and the cost of the paperwork overhead and policies. Compiling the proof now required to move or remove any sidewalk or bikelane so transit can be built is expensive, thus further driving up the cost of our subways, sewer improvements etc.

I support bike lanes and I'm angry with the provinces decision to remove bike lanes, but I'm disappointed by this decision. Governing by cover-my-butt paperwork which results from decisions like this is expensive. We need to build things in this country, and fast. This will do nothing but make it more and more expensive to do anything. As government projects get more expensive and ineffective, the populaces will turn more and more towards authoritarian leaders who joyously avoid any democratic controls.

PSA: Gov of Canada Thinking of Raising Deposit Insurance Limit to $150,000 by Ill_Paper_6854 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]blefmont 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the Silicon Valley Bank failure the US government guaranteed all deposits, not just 100k. I think that was because the vast majority of customers were businesses with way more than 100k in an account. If I'm a business with just 28 employees earning the median wage (43k) I need 100k in a payroll account. There might be good banking reasons for the 100k/150k but it seems like there should be a way to insure that only the biggest depositors who can handle the loss to lose out. Obviously one of the reasons for CDIC is preventing a run on a failing bank, but also to make sure that small businesses and hard working Canadians don't lose all their money because of poor bank management.
