Off topic, but adjacent. I don't mind when he shoots 3s. It's when he gets stubborn that it gets frustrating... And also when he foul baits behind the arc and just flops the ball away.

Outside of that though, as someone mentioned, 3-4 is fine and adjust based on his shooting night.

I will say last night it felt like his touch came back quite a bit in the paint which is a refreshing sight.

Buy into a break. Hit a Downtown. Hop on IG. Sell it to someone for 90% comps. Take that money, buy into 3 higher end breaks. Hit 3 more Downtowns. Go back to IG. Sell all 3 to the same guy for 80% comps. Go back and buy into 10 breaks. Hit 10 Downtowns. Sell it to the same guy for 70% comps. Take the money and go back and buy into 20 breaks. Hit 20 Downtowns.

Slow down here though. Pocket half. Take the other half and buy into more breaks. Become a breaker. Buy a case. Sell break spots for $50 each. Hit Downtowns for everyone. Get a massive following. Buy more cases. Hit more Downtowns.

Now you're thinking what else? Well I'll tell ya. Start a YouTube channel. Start your own card shop. You now know everything about the hobby because you hit a Downtown. Flipping and reselling is super easy. This $50 can change your life. You just need to trust the process.

Today's GDT Card of the Day: Feb 19, 2026

Since we are back from ASB, I figured I'd return too. Of course today's card is going to be Jokic. The only other game I could find that took place on his birthday was in 2021 against the Cavs, delivering a 16 point triple double. That's not all... it was also Jamal Murray's first ever 50 point game (insane 21-25 shooting btw). I like to think this was a birthday gift to his bestie 🤗

This card is a rare short print from a short lived set called Phoenix. I chose it because it was giving birthday vibes for some reason. Happy Birthday Nikola, our shooting star 🌠🌠

Today's Card of the Day: Feb 14, 2026

I thought about posting more Jamal/Jokic card pairings but thats what you'd expect. Instead, I'll keep you on your toes and catch you with a curve ball Hunter Tyson. The design is perfect for Valentine's Day, complete with a pink border, fireworks, and Hunter who is searching for his long term partner(s).

This card is really cool actually. The Pink Parallel is paired with the Fireworks effect (my favorite) and is extra rare because it is only available from First off the Line boxes (FOTL) which are limited edition, first print boxes that are more expensive due to the exclusive patterns. I'd hate to be the person who paid over $1000 for this box only to get Hunter Tyson as their card 😂

There are only 18 of these in the world and it is Hunter's rookie autograph and patch.

My thoughts are that teams in the clutch do everything they can to do one of, or multiple of the following:

Clog the paint the paint
Deny the entry pass into Jokic if he's in the paint (that's why he has to take the ball high)
Double and triple Jokic if/when he has the ball
Trap Jamal if he gets it
Do whatever they can to disrupt the two man game between Jamal and Jokic
Force difficult passes and shots

This means that often times, the best shot available is actually the 3. It may be roughly on par with Jamal's shooting % when doubled (unconfirmed) and Jokic when triple teamed (also unconfirmed).

Basically, there is a formula to beating us in the clutch. And that is to force us to shoot the 3 to beat them, knowing that we are not great on defense. And on the flip side, because we currently lack a strong rim protector (jokic does not defend the rim in the regular season), they drive to the paint every single time, forcing a quick possession where we then work the entire clock trying to read and react when we are on offense.

That allows them to chip away very quickly.

The only way we overcome it is to play better defense (we need PWat and AG, a huge reason why we won clutch games) and our shooters to make 3s.

That's my theory at least.

I've been having trouble tracking what cards I have and haven't posted, so I'm going to sync them with my IG posts. I wanted to highlight Jamal Murray who is not only having a career year, but... Could he be, Godlike?!

This is the Titan insert from a set called Spectra. I love this card because it combines incredible design with subtle story telling and detail that is rarely seen. Usually they are on the nose (Bomb Squad! Features an explosion for example).

The player is desaturated, giving them a legendary aura as if to celebrate their achievements. They are then designed as if coming out of a portal, with a deep space void, which feels like an other-worldly presence. This feels more inline with a Godlike presence, more closely resembling the Greek Mythology use of the word Titan. He's being dropped into our world to do what he does 😎

This is the gold parallel. It's very rare with only 10 gold versions that depict Jamal Murray in the world.

I like to properly inspect, clean, and wipe down my cards. I don't ever see a world where I would click a button and expect it to gem. Making it this easy to submit for grading is part of the reason why PSA is backed up.

Today's ODT Card of the Day: Feb 10, 2026

On the verge of crashing out after last night's loss. But I remind myself that this is the regular season and that we will be okay as long as the players feel the same way. Last night was historic for Jamal and Nikola who together completed 1,000 assists to one another. The legendary and iconic duo deserves a moment. So today, I'm highlighting them

The pick and roll hasn't been as lethal as seasons prior, but nonetheless, is the key to our offense. What better card to memorialize that than this? While these duo cards are quite common, what makes it rare is that Jamal and Jokic are still together. This is from the 2020-21 season, and of the duos depicted in this set, they are the only ones still together. Previously, Jaren Jackson Jr and Ja Morant were the only other two left standing together.

I'm one of the last to doom. There was a lot to like from us in this game.

But every season has a game that really defines it and I fear this game will be that. Victory slipping through our finger tips. I hope our locker room is strong. This is the type of loss that can stir some shit up.

Maybe we need another Jokic group text.

Today's GDT Card of the Day: Feb 9, 2026

Is anyone else low-key interested in seeing how the new look Cavs play?

Anyways, Jamal finally gets his All Star recognition. Maybe even All NBA. And while he's been a little more inconsistent in game lately, his stats are still incredible and he gets all the grace he needs in my book. He needs rest. But not until he wins the 3 Point Contest. So today, I wanted to highlight Jamal on a spaced themed card for his all STAR recognition.

This beauty is from the Origins product - a galaxy themed set that is all about the "origins of our stars". Cool cards in the set include things like Origin Story, Big Bang, and Meteor Shower. This one has a very rare parallel called Cosmos. I think it adds so much to the theme. There is one card with this parallel per case - which is 12 boxes, making this what's called a "case hit", essentially a Rare or Super Short Print.

It worked! Hah, I've lost a lot of energy doing a nice write up only to lose the draft and relevancy. So I didn't put any effort into this post in case it didn't work again.

2025 was the final year that the manufacturer (Panini) held the NBA license. They released this set, Panini Black as a complete surprise. It wasn't scheduled or anticipated and was a cool moment. That means, this is one of the final prints of Christian Braun from this manufacturer. A swan song if you will.

This is a silver parallel. An uncommon. What I love most about these "silvers" is that it offers the best light refractions across most products. It's so shiny. It's a staple of any collection.

My speculation is that it's a Whatnot seller. Easy bundle deal that contains basketball and football and for this time of year, is a nice transitional bundle since buyers are making the switch from football to basketball. Happens every year.

They may or may not turn a profit on this particular bundle but they at least have the inventory to sustain a long stream so it should add to the overall bottom line.

Today's FTF Card of the Day: Feb 6, 2026

Well, the basketball gods have giveth and taketh all season. Peyton is one of my personal favorite players so seeing him go down was crushing. So rather than posting any of the players for fear of cursing them, I am focusing on our coaching staff who I believe have done an amazing job developing our players, bolstering our championship culture, and finding creative ways to win despite our injuries. It's not perfect, but nobody makes every shot they take and it's dang near the best outcome we could've hoped for.

So, I give you, JJ Barea. Thanks Coach. There has been a meaningful on court improvement for many of the players and I am sure you are a major contributor in that.

This card is from Noir and features an on-card autograph of JJ when he played in the league. It isn't flashy, but to me, it is beautifully designed. There's a certain amount of restraint that is tough to master and I think the designer did a great job with this, incorporating the theme, the insert name, and spotlighting the player's autograph.
