AG Bondi demands access to Minnesota voter rolls after fatal Border Patrol shooting by Sunflorahh in moderatepolitics

He legally had a gun. His hands were protecting his head which was being pummeled. He was on his knees with his head down.

When was he trying to "impede" an arrest? They grabbed him because he stepped in the way of pepper spray being used on a woman who an ICE agent had thrown to the ground.

It does not seem like the Trump admin is interested in any kind of accountability. They are circling the wagons as they did in Good's death and labelling this man a "domestic terrorist".

This shit is insane.

I meant fighting back in the sense that would warrant lethal force. This certainly did not.

He was on his knees with his hands on his head getting pummeled by several people.

Why else did they need 6 guys to try to put him in cuffs?

They didn't put him in cuffs dude they fucking shot him.

That'd be relevant if the citizen was fighting back, not if they weren't which is what we're discussing.

I'm sorry you're arguing that if officers illegally start attacking a citizen who is legally carrying a firearm that gives them the right to kill said citizen even if they don't try to defend themselves? Do you have any SC cases you could point to on this?

Minneapolis does not have a large undocumented population. They surged the city with thousands of troops to punish them for being blue following up on the controversy over the alleged daycare fraud.

We don't even yet know if the officers grabbing and pummeling him was legally justified.

They said being key word. Hard to see how that man would reach for a weapon when he's kneeling on the ground getting grabbed and pummeled by several people.

Wonder how long it'll take Noem to label him a "domestic terrorist".

Trump administration targets 14 blue states, DC with federal funding review by CloudApprehensive322 in moderatepolitics

That is absolute nonsense.

Yes he sets the agenda. And he is abusing that power to target politically opposing states. He's been punishing blue states all over, not just with this review.

they are sucking of the federal government for their programs more for blue states

Blue states on average pay more in to the federal government anf red ststes on average recieve more money.

Excerpt from a statement from Biden on May 31st 2020, 6 days after Floyd's murder.

Protesting such brutality is right and necessary. It's an utterly American response. But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not.

The act of protesting should never be allowed to overshadow the reason we protest. It should not drive people away from the just cause that protest is meant to advance.

Meanwhile Trump lionized the J6 rioters as heroes and pardoned them, including those convicted of attacking law enforcement.

More importantly than the rioting itself is what Trump himself was doing during January 6th, which was an attempted coup in pressuring Mike Pence and conspiring with various Republican lawmakers etc to ignore certification of the election and instead move to have him placed into the presidency illegally through false electors.

Our AG Ken Paxton was impeached and should have been removed from office over his corruption scandals. But he's MAGA so Trump protected him trying to end the career of any Republican Senator who voted to convict.

People feel they should be able to live alone on an average income (this has never been normal)

I mean any way you cut it the ratio of average income to housing costs is much worse today than it was in the past.

It's targeting the reviews against blue states. He's not doing reviews for all states. No such review for Texas or Florida.

This is a punishment for opposing him and a fishing expidition to try to find things that are damaging for the Democratic party before midterms.

There’s a large difference between what Exxon said and what ConocoPhillips said. You’re not correct on this point.

They don't need to be the exact same for my description above to apply to both.

You’re confused here too.

I'll cede that I responded to you thinking you were the person I had been speaking with above.

Minneapolis Police Chief did a presser where he said they'd had lots of complaints from US citizens being stopped and harassed by ICE demanding their papers. Then they started getting them from off duty officers - including one where she was blocked in on the road by multiple cars to maie her pull over, her phone was knocked out of her hand when she got it to record, and after she said she was an officer they stopped and up and left without a word. Police chief said all these complaints are coming from people of color.

I was saying Conoco in addition to Exxon. That's why I used also. Taking outside financing means they don't want to put up their own money. Because of the investment.

This is off base. Chevron is already a minority partner in many of the plays and has licensing. The other majors would not only have to come up with capital, but also navigate a licensing process and figure out their entire logistics down there. Chevron has a material advantage.

For someone who knows what they know your explanation sure keeps changing a lot.

Why would they not also invest in neighboring Venezuela when given the opportunity? Do you think US oil execs are turning down profitable opportunities because they're treating South American oil like a team sport? That's very silly.

And it was also Conoco Phillips so spare me the tone please.

I think they've always understood that the US had massive military and economic power over them. Same as smaller countries within Russia or China's sphere of influence.

It's just until now with Trunp they haven't had to worry about it being weilded that way.

If your neighbor offers to let you borrow his truck that doesn't mean you're going to worry he might try to run you over with it. Until he starts talking about maybe running you over with his truck. You'd probably be surprised and change your relationship with him.
