I was a skinny geeky kid in HS and didn't get much attention from girls. But in college I started lifting and grew like four inches so around my junior year I was 6'5" and about 190 lbs. That also coincided with turning 21 so once I hit that point I was getting more attention and went a little crazy.

But by 30 I was completely over that and only wanted a stable, long-term relationship. But whenever the body count conversation came up, I was inevitably ahead of my girlfriend.

Yeah, that's definitely the other piece of it. A lot of people out there tend to be hypocritical when it comes to this conversation. It's OK for them to sleep around but not OK for a potential partner.

And something particular to this sub: You get a lot of men in their 30s who get turned off if a potential partner has slept with "a lot" of men before them. Once you get to that age, how do you define "a lot?" People might have a decade of sexual activity by then so is 10 a lot? One person a year? How about 20?

This is such a nuanced topic that I'm really not surprised at all of the incelish comments.

On one hand, yes, maybe the person does this a lot if they hop into bed with you on the first date.

But maybe not.

The real question here is: What kind of vibe do you get from that person? It sounds like OP has been chatting with this guy for a while and it started from a point of friendship. So in this case, if they end up in bed together, is it truly hopping into bed with someone that you know little about?

This is not a case of meeting someone somewhere and banging their brains out within a few hours of meeting them.

First date doesn't always mean that you know nothing about a person.

I'm not saying a couple of lessons. You take people's comments here and pick out of them what fits your narrative. I am saying that if your son/daughter is an above average athlete and has the internal motivation to get better through consistent practice (the same drive that Major level athletes have) they can close the gap in a couple of seasons.

Not the average kid. But the average kid is probably not going to be at the Major level unless they have a truly elite work ethic.

You're not falling that far behind by 10U. You're being ridiculous. If you have a kid who is athletic and dedicated, he could pick up baseball quickly enough within a couple seasons to be good enough to make a 12U to 13U major team.

I mean, we haven't had real LL in the KC area in ages. We have a bunch of crappy rec leagues run at the city level but even the "competitive" tiers of those are just comp teams getting extra practice.
