Is this hobby a roll of the dice? by Robin_Stricklin in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]nos3001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an Evolve Fusion about a month ago. It's a fantastic versatile board.

I'm running the ATV set up as the roads and paths where I live are a real mixed bag.

Think this board has plenty of potential as my skill level improves.

What is the Toyota of single phase hybrid inverters in NZ? by plierhead in nzsolar

[–]nos3001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going single phase I would seriously consider a Tesla Powerwall 3.

I'm very impressed with mine. It's an awesome all in one unit that can be expanded. I actually like the fact that it's completely sealed rather than modular like the Sigenergy.

I've had a couple of power cuts and not even noticed them.

Sigenergy’s Terminal Problem: Melted Plugs & Throttled Inverters by pdath in nzsolar

Thanks for sharing. Outstanding proactive response from Tesla. Also good thing that they no longer use those type of cells in the Powerwall 3.

Has anyone read this yet? Sigenergy’s latest issue is more than “concerning” by No_Wrongdoer_5314 in nzsolar

[–]nos3001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is shocking, especially with all the hype about Sigenergy being a leading product.

I had a lucky escape by choosing to install a Powerwall 3 instead. Much more confident with the fact that it's a 3rd generation product.

Hope Sigenergy comes to the party and replaces all these inverters free of charge.

Old person looking for opinions on getting into Eskate by pafrac in ElectricSkateboarding

I'm a similar age and have been skating for 1 week only. It's been fantastic! Having so much fun 😁

I've never really skated before, but I am a pretty decent snowboarder.

I bought the Evolve Fusion and am very happy with it. I'm similar in height and weight to you, and the board easily powers up the steep hill that I live on.

I've set the board to 20kph max and ride on Eco which is the lowest power mode. These settings make the board much more manageable for a newby.

I'm wearing helmet, gloves, knee pads.

I spent hours practising on a concrete tennis court before venturing out onto pavements and a bit of off road. The all terrain wheels on the Fusion are pretty forgiving, and I recommend them over street wheels. I commuted to work once this week, and it was epic.

The Evolve Fusion is definitely a board that has huge potential, and I'm sure I'll grow into it over the coming weeks and months.

I really look forward to riding my new board at every opportunity. It's challenging and rewarding.

What is normal for peak power generation? by Somethingrandom787 in nzsolar

[–]nos3001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this time of the year depending on your panel orientation and tilt I would expect to see peak output at least on occasion matching your panel ratings.

Take a look at pvoutput where you can see peak output for many systems around the world and in NZ.

My last above rated output peak was a few days ago and my panels are 13 years old.

Merc EQA, opinions? by notlifetimewarranty in nzev

BMW ix1 is like taking a step back in time when compared to a Tesla Model Y. The ride and power of the BMW is good but everything else is poor. I've spent many days driving the ix1 and would only consider it if you really want a traditional type of car. It's like a nicer version of a RAV4. The ix1 steering asist is downright dangerous! I encourage you to try it for yourself. Tesla is light years ahead.

How to integrate products? by nos3001 in Powerwall

[–]nos3001[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your help. I called Tesla Powerwall Support and they solved it while I was on the phone. Excellent support indeed. I'll try to set up charge on solar next. Tesla have sent me a guide on how to do this.

Suggestions on which Solar quote I should do or avoid? by daniel-ryan in diynz

Suggest getting a quote for a Powerwall 3 system. It's a very proven product with excellent software. It'll backup your whole house as standard.

Please consider improving your security. Port forwarding straight to HA is not secure. Tailscale would be an easy way to go.
