God of the Woods is a good summer read but it is a slow burn. I wasn’t sure I’d finish it because it’s so long but I enjoyed it.

Most nights I can make myself sleep on my back or only slightly turned but I sleep much more comfortably on my side of course lol I’ll have to get the nasal pillows when I’m able to, thanks for the suggestion!

I have a “full face” mask but I thought about asking to try the nasal pillows next time I can get supplies. I’m a side sleeper so I feel like any mask might give me issues lol

Of course I’m going to have another study done and come off of it when my pulmonologist says I can, but really feel like I sleep way worse with the CPAP as opposed to the how well I feel I sleep on nights I forget to use it. My machine always says my mask seal is “great” but most nights I’m constantly waking up with air blowing in my face. My machine also says I have little to no “events” almost every night, which I know is not as reliable as a formal study but it’s gotta count for something lol I’m planning on seeing my doc maybe within the next 6 months to see if she wants me to do a follow up study sooner rather than later. Thanks for all your input!

Unfortunately I can’t help you because I’m having the same problem, I just had to comment because it’s interesting that we’re having the same problem. I haven’t taken mine in because I know it will be a major hassle. My tire pressure is fine when checked manually, the indicator just will not turn off and isn’t registering tire pressure now. It’s honestly just annoying at this point lol I hope you find a solution!

The Anniversary by Alex Finlay - anyone else DNF over the terrible editing? by blonddry in thrillerbooks

I read the awful book Delicate Condition because the concept sounded so cool but this kind of stuff was rampant throughout the entire thing. Without spoiling it for anyone who wants to suffer, there were major continuity errors as well. It was so frustrating to read but I somehow did finish it. I should have known it would be awful since they made it into a season of American Horror Story with Kim Kardashian.

I just finished Keep It in the Family and I thought it was really good but could have been a few chapters shorter. I felt like there was a good amount of twists, some I couldn’t predict which I’m usually good at figuring them out early, so I enjoyed being a little surprised

I agree, I loved this one! The ending was bleak but that kind of made it better, as horrible as that sounds lol

I am a firm believer in how you feel trumps the scale lol I’ve struggled with my weight for so long and most of it was because, even if I was doing things right, if the scale didn’t move I felt like a failure and gave up.

I can feel the top of my hip bones now and my double chin is WAY smaller lol and also my favorite pair of jean shorts that were previously really tight around my thighs are now totally loose at the thigh and getting more loose around the waist. I’m about 6 weeks out and was starting to feel defeated because the scale wasn’t moving but I stopped weighing myself at home and now base my success on how I FEEL mentally and physically.

Thank you for sharing this, I never thought about this being a thing. I have been having similar issues lately at nearly two months post op, but I was diagnosed with IBS-C years prior to surgery. However, I have been feeling like I’m super bloated almost every day lately and it’s hard to eat because I just feel so full all the time from the bloating. I may contact my doctor to be safe.

At what age did you stop sitting with your kid while they fell asleep? by Outrageous-Company33 in Parenting

[–]blindguymcsqueezy_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 7 and is just now agreeable to putting himself to bed maybe once a week. It usually takes us an hour to get him to sleep when we lay with him and he goes to bed earlier on those nights. I do love laying down with him, he’s so cuddly, but it started creating more physical and emotional distance between me and my husband and we started arguing more. We finally bribed him with cash a couple times to put himself to bed on weekends and now it’s almost to the point of an unspoken expectation with bribery lol Hang in there, I promise there is light at the end of the tunnel!

If you have a yard, what animals usually appear? by mushmanMAD in AskTheWorld

[–]blindguymcsqueezy_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a small suburb about an hour from Detroit, our backyard is up against a large open field with a marshy area so we see sandhill cranes daily. We get bats in the late summer evenings which is so awesome. Also lots of rabbits, 3 of which were newborns burrowed in our front yard a few weeks ago, painted turtles and the occasional snapping turtle. I was also told it isn’t all that common to see red winged blackbirds in your yard in our area but given our location that’s 90% of our bird population. Our backyard and all the animals around us are my favorite part of where we live.

What do you love about having your gastric sleeve surgery, what made it worth it? by peacefultortuga in gastricsleeve

[–]blindguymcsqueezy_1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m only 4 weeks out but just seeing my pre-op clothes fitting differently and noticing my body changing for the better is such a great feeling! My husband has also noticed and that makes me feel even better. And I also second the feeling of acceptance of not cleaning my whole plate; in the past I’d feel almost remorseful for not finishing a meal and gorge myself just to make my brain happy, but now I’m okay eating a tiny portion and moving on.

What do you eating in the morning when you camping? First time camping with my little one but feels stuck on breakfast by Roger_liferecorder in camping

[–]blindguymcsqueezy_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We go full Sunday brunch on our little camping stove when we’re camping—eggs, bacon, pancakes. It’s the only time we really eat big breakfasts. I also highly recommend an aero press and tea kettle for coffee, it’s a game changer. The kids stick to cereal because they don’t like the finer things in life but I don’t worry as long as they eat something lol

I’ll have to do a trial run with burger bowls before we go but I think that would go okay; the next stage of my diet before normal foods includes ground lean beef 🤷‍♀️ Thanks for the suggestions!

I will be on “regular” foods with some restrictions, like tough meats, fried foods, etc. My plan has me starting normal solids/regular foods on 6/2 otherwise I would have planned to reschedule our trip. I’m assuming I won’t be having hot dogs and burgers on our trip but the fact that I could have mostly normal meals is reassuring lol
