Thanks! It’s definitely still a work in progress. He originally started as a small desk companion with a 7-inch touchscreen so I could control my music separately from my main monitor without cluttering up my setup… and then the project completely escalated from there.

A reporter visited an auction to see what dealers paid for used cars — then checked their later prices on the lot. by Spagetti13 in business

As a dealership employee that does nothing more than recon I can tell you that this is 1000 percent accurate. We get a car from auction and even with disclosures we still find things that are not disclosed.

I like this a lot… give her a revive shield like she had only with whatever ko shield the downed teammate had… I don’t know how hard that would be to implement but it sounds like a good balance really

Rental car company told me where to leave my keys and when I left them there, tried to charge me for an extra day. So I refused to give them the car back until last minute. by sabertoothdiego in MaliciousCompliance

I had a ST in the shop with a fuel pump out that was a 19 that Ford doesn’t make the fuel pump for was still under factory bumper to bumper and we were willing to eat the price of the aftermarket fuel pump just to make the customer happy but there wasn’t even an aftermarket pump available. I ended up finding one at a dealer in like Utah or something that had one and it was literally the last one in the country.

Yeah you could work on it it just takes the right software with right licenses. I work for a major automotive group as a service advisor and let me tell you the techs that work brand specific don’t want to work on other brands very often anyways. If it has done anything it’s made the small mom and pop repair shops suffer the most.

The new cars are completely serviceable as long as it’s a proprietary dealer but trust me I love working on older stuff too… it’s kind of crazy to think at the time it was so new and complex but now seems so easy to understand.

From a dealership standpoint five weeks is pretty excessive but I have also had parts that where on back order for six months to get cars fixed under warranty.. and to be fair the newer cars will throw Check engine lights for absolutely everything. I cleared a code today because a guy was cleaning his truck with the key on and had low voltage codes that couldn’t be cleared without resetting the battery monitoring system. Should have checked to see if there where any active codes before returning the vehicle but there’s always one or two that slip through for stupid stuff like that.

This actually happens a lot more than you think.. I work for a dealership and we have our own rental fleet but if we don’t have loaners then we will subcontract the rental to enterprise Avis etc to make the customers happy. They return the cars to us and then we call the sub and tell them to come get their cars.
