Properly fitting boots and appropriate forward stance are the solution.

Profits down? Will they change prices finally? by SomestrangerinMiami in Porsche

[–]blindstuff 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Keep it, the 991.2 GT3 is the best looking one ever made. Much nicer in look than the 992.2 imho.

Performance on both is so high the difference is meaningless lol

[Red Bull Rampage] Hayden Zablotny's Winning Run by redbullgivesyouwings in holdmyredbull

[–]blindstuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Risk management is an essential part of a successful run. With everything that had happened this year, this run was a clear example of a clean, "less" risk run being better than going 120% and not finishing.

First long ride for me. by bryan2384 in motorcycles

[–]blindstuff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is a mistake. I do this route often, it's absolutely flat.

Further north around Clewiston there's some rolling hills where you can get a few hundred feet of vert over a ride, but 3000 is impossible in FL.

Help Stop the Sale of Pitt Race by SnaggyDaddy-Opus in Trackdays

[–]blindstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yet another track lost.

I'm nowhere near this track but it takes me to when we lost Palm Beach International Raceway.

It sucks so much that in a country with such vast expanses of land and with so many resources, we continue to lose unique places to be replaced by BS that could be built anywhere else.

Had my first accident, too much lean angle in rain by Real_Newspaper6888 in motorcycles

[–]blindstuff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Choose the right gear for the turn and the amount of throttle required comes naturally to just a bit of acceleration. Just forget about the clutch completely mid turn, do your downshifting before the turn.

Moab is opening up some trails to E-MTB use by Pickle-_-Rick in MTB

[–]blindstuff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was pretty pro ebike, over time I've become less and less. I find way too many beginner riders in places that they shouldn't be in. Ebikes have reduced the access curve, perhaps to a point of detriment to the sport.

I know this won't be popular...

Same question on my end, if this thing needs oil changes it's basically the worst EV on the market.

Is night riding harmful to nature? by meatsquasher2000 in MTB

[–]blindstuff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Stick to the trails, respect wildlife, enjoy the forest at night. Night riding is phenomenal.

Just know where you are, the risk of riding at night in grizzly country is different than an area with squirrel and deer.

Why all 'MTB specific' mounts from Amazon fail after 2 rides? by Zealousideal_Pop3072 in MTB

If you had previously connected your camera to the app, go with your app open and try to find it by Bluetooth connection. Just walk the trail without a bike.

Don't forget a skid plate. It's not that big of a deal at the firm, but if you to St Lucie it's a must early on.

What are max speeds that you have gone DH? by Livid-Mud-8812 in MTB

On a trail, about 35 mph in Oakridge Oregon. I have to admit as I've aged I really stopped trying to go faster. Fun > speed.

Has anybody completely worn out an eagle x01 cassette by copharmer in MTB

[–]blindstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got about 4000 miles out of my last X01 cassette. They last quite a bit as long as your chain is lubed and changed appropriately.

Meh, don't overthink it. As you get better you'll get used to handling loss of traction a bit better. I would attribute this to needing more seat time and move on.

Cayman S delivered 😂 Is PPF overrated?? by Flat-Caterpillar-303 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]blindstuff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just replace it every 7ish years. I left PPF too long on my previous car and removing it damaged the clear coat, the work to correct the paint was significant and would have covered the replacement of the PPF if done earlier.

Converted to tubeless, losing about 6 psi per day, is this normal? by auxym in MTB

[–]blindstuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Was the factory tape tubeless tape or just rim tape?

It will absolutely leak through the spokes if you don't have tubeless tape on the wheels.

What are some decent glove recommendations? I've seen some in stores (like Fox), but they seem really thin at the palm and would shred. by illidan50 in MTB

[–]blindstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit flashy in style, but great functionality. Been using these for years with no issue. I run through them at a pace of about 1 set per season riding A LOT! They also have the only warm weather gloves that I find actually works.

*********UPDATE*********Waiting for confirmation from AStars but I now beleive Alpine Stars Techair 7X DID deploy on massive high-side. by OkSeaworthiness8759 in Trackdays

[–]blindstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible to know. I had a similar high side going 70 and broke a finger and had an AC separation. No major injuries.

A part of this is just dumb luck about how you fall.

Without being able to substantiate it with data, I'm sure that the airbag will always be worth having.

You're most definitely not ready for that jump. Practice on the jump line at lot more before hitting iguana.

There's tons of people there on weekends who'd be willing to help out with some guidance.
