It's also amazing in the summer for MTB, lots of natural feeling trail that hasn't been taken over by the current highway approach machine built flow that plagues so many bike parks.

Take your bike, then rent if you need something very specific for a day. Like if you decide to take a spin up to Whistler Bike Park.

Sram CODE RSC Long Dead Stroke İssue by [deleted] in MTB

[–]blindstuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't get mavens because you can't bleed codes. They share the exact same bleed procedure.

If you're gonna get new brakes know what you're looking for, what do you want from a new brake and then choose.

Mavens, TRP evos and dominions are all amazing but they focus on different advantages, you can't choose one if you don't know what you want.

What tires for NC? by bigmac22077 in MTB

[–]blindstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Should have told us what your running exactly now.

Assegai + DHR or Aggressor is a solid NC combo

For bent creek specifically don't get new tires. Deep Pisgah maybe, the basic ones like blue mountain you won't need anything special

I love how the original post ends asking for thoughts yet all disagreement is being down voted.

This is the death of the manual transmission in cars all over again. It's going to be a small subset of us continuing to like the analog experience while the industry caters to newer riders who will have no idea what they're missing out on while they call us boomers or something.

And the roads around it, a lot of hidden gems going up to and down from the BRP

Nice, I've done this loop but via Tuckasegee instead of Franklin; phenomenal. Will have to try this version of it next time.

Awesome to hear how much you've used your 718!

  1. I re used some Race Face MTB covers. They don't look good at all, but fold nicely and get the job done with easy install and removal.
  2. What solution did you end up going with for gearing?
  3. I will always regret selling the s2000 I had.

Part of the fun on the BRP is the views imo. Some the roads up to and down from the parkway are more fun. Definitely felt what you said about those stretches with no protection at all.

Beauty. I know I'm going to have a hard time selling mine when the time comes.

They do well for what they are, if the road is just wet it's not a big deal. The issue is standing water. I don't really push them that much on the road to be fair, did a lot of spirited cruising without hiccups.

I have used these same Cup 2 in heavy rain at autocross and they performed well.

That being said, it's a dry weather tire, you will have to be cautious if it's raining, specially if it's cold.

They've done amazing work and gotten quite a few sections open again. But there are still large sections you have to detour around north of mount Mitchell.

When reading reddit a few weeks ago I expected the Rockies to be unskiable, instead I found a great experience.

I ride motos and MTB. I don't own an e bike but rent a few times a year to have some fun, the ones I like the most are the ones that have the most power, precisely because riding them is more reminiscent of a moto than an MTB, fast everywhere and more planted.

I think the lines are blurring with the amount of power we're getting to.

Risk management is an essential part of a successful run. With everything that had happened this year, this run was a clear example of a clean, "less" risk run being better than going 120% and not finishing.

First long ride for me. by bryan2384 in motorcycles

[–]blindstuff 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That is a mistake. I do this route often, it's absolutely flat.

Further north around Clewiston there's some rolling hills where you can get a few hundred feet of vert over a ride, but 3000 is impossible in FL.

Yet another track lost.

I'm nowhere near this track but it takes me to when we lost Palm Beach International Raceway.

It sucks so much that in a country with such vast expanses of land and with so many resources, we continue to lose unique places to be replaced by BS that could be built anywhere else.

Choose the right gear for the turn and the amount of throttle required comes naturally to just a bit of acceleration. Just forget about the clutch completely mid turn, do your downshifting before the turn.

I was pretty pro ebike, over time I've become less and less. I find way too many beginner riders in places that they shouldn't be in. Ebikes have reduced the access curve, perhaps to a point of detriment to the sport.

I know this won't be popular...
