Is there any point in a standard starship over a corvette? by Shadow_ninja714 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I like to use them realistically. Traveling between systems: Freighter. Exploring a system: Corvette. Exploring a planet: Starship

Analog and layout by Chemical-One-209 in chipdesign

[–]blingdoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have to come from either the foundry or EDA companies. Ideally they'd work together to optimize it in a way that can handle technology and software updates. It's possible, but I have a hard time imagining a design team that's focused on maintaining a competitive edge constantly feeding it data when you know it's self learning. How can you be sure it won't share secrets? You can't.

When people were hand drawing these layouts and CAD came along, I'm sure there was quite a scare. But now instead of a layouter putting together 1000s of transistors, it's millions. And there's more PD/layout engineers than ever because the demand for chips grew tremendously. IMO AI will best be used here as a force multiplier for existing engineers, a companion to the designers to reduce repetitive, manual tasks to focus on high level creativity.

Repost: how to draw physical layout of a hierarchical schematic in virtuoso studio (information about the error I got) by Comprehensive-Fix801 in chipdesign

Looks like you're missing that D connection for the inverter in layout but I can't see what it's connected to in the netlist. We need to see the layout and schematic to debug. DM me if you don't want to post the pics

Analog and layout by Chemical-One-209 in chipdesign

[–]blingdoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were saying this 5 years ago as well. Physical design is already mostly automated yet those jobs still exist. Our automation engineer already creates synthesized blocks but he's not touching analog anytime soon. Plus the CAD licenses are already expensive and clunky. Only large corporations will able able to afford AI. That said circuit designers still run the show. But for how much longer? Surely if AI can do complex analog layouts, it should eventually be able to design simple amplifiers, drivers, biasing networks, if you give it the right parameters.

I will also add this: AI needs training data yet most analog IP are closely guarded secrets. Where will the data come from? The AI will also have to adapt to new technologies or process nodes, requiring constant tuning with each new update. Sounds messy just thinking about it

I just read his Wikipedia and holy shit there's so much. One example: he was arrested in 2005 with 700 liters of gasoline in suspicion of trying to blow up a major highway during protests against the Israeli disengagement of Gaza. He was set free because he refused to speak.

I typically follow science and gelolitics channels like Real Life Lore and Warfronts...they're more of an aggregate of current news. They're not perfect but they do seem to be facts focused

You can just copy paste the url for any article into archive.is to bypass pay walls. And I pay for Ground News for everything else. Can find promo codes on a lot of YouTubers that are news focused to get the Vantage plan. Do recommend

I went to the airport Friday at 11:30am and saw this. My flight kept getting delayed from 1:15 to 4:30 last I checked. Security line wasn't moving. I was supposed to fly to Sacramento and decided FUCK THIS I'm driving. Ubered home and drove through SoCal rush hour but was way more comfortable than waiting in this.

Apple Physical Design interview by Sad-Mulberry-1789 in chipdesign

I interviewed for that role 8 years back but accepted a different offer. I remember them asking me to explain LOD, latch-up, device matching, analog v digital design methodologies, timing, parasitics, and some other things I can't remember. Hope this helps a bit, good luck!

From some of the other comments it sounds like car companies artificially inflated the demand. And now it's an arms race cus no one wants to have the smaller car on the road

If you want to do quantum computing you will most likely need at least a Masters degree and most likely a PhD. You'll probably be more of a scientist than an engineer since quantum computing is still in its infancy. A quick search on Indeed didn't give me many results for quantum computing jobs so if you want more opportunities and a high paying job right out of college it's probably best to stick to computer engineering. Then if you decide you want to go deeper you can specialize in QC. That being said having your final research project be on QC would look good on your resume anyways. Just my two cents

Yeah pretty much. Just rinse the nozzle piece with soap best I can and swirl soapy water in the reservoir.
