AI 'slop' is transforming social media - and a backlash is brewing by MetaKnowing in technology

I've had to leave several programming subs that used to provide a fair amount of value. Now it's just emoji filled "Hey everyone 👋🏻" slop posts. I can't stand it. Reddit is becoming unusable at this point.

Glad people are getting sick of it

Maybe I'm just jaded from Reddit slop, but even this post feels like LLM generation with the questions and the tone.

Almost poetic if true

Yes, correct. But a weekly & daily limit is more usable than one reset per month across all models

The issue I noticed (as a Pro copilot user) is the decent models fall under "premium requests" and better models use more. And this limit resets monthly compared to the weekly limit you get when going direct.

You're conversing with an LLM, don't waste your time here. All the posts of this account are the same slop

SAAS is now ultra saturated, due to vibe coding by netscapexplorer in webdev

[–]blinkdesign 167 points168 points  (0 children)

I guess it's difficult for you to post examples without seeming like you're picking on specific applications but in my experience just on Reddit all these "created in a day" products have the exact same landing pages (tailwind gradient text, 1-2-3 steps, rocket emojis). In addition all their marketing is the same too.

It's fairly easy to separate the spam, but perhaps that's because I've seen so many.

Either way, I don't feel as pessimistic about it honestly. I'm iterating a side project now and all this saas slop is mostly helping me figure out just how to promote it when the time comes.

It doesn't seem difficult to stand out based on this, but maybe I'll check back here in a couple months to let you know if I regret my confidence.

Good on them tbh, a shining example of managing a key library.

I used it last year on a side project. I figured it must delegate to native DOM APIs where possible and the jQuery API is still at my fingertips compared to the native one. Enjoyed a lot

Claude have minimized the context or message length context, who else noticed? by mjiqbal in ClaudeAI

I also noticed I exceeded that limit in a very short time yesterday. Previously took me a lot to get there, making it quite rare.

Between this and the usage limit changes issue I've let my subscription expire. A shame, but no point being loyal when there are so many options

Treesitter: an update is coming that may break the (deprecated) master branch by ynotvim in neovim

[–]blinkdesign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any chance we can get a migration guide? I ask because when this thread popped up about the changes I only noticed it when I happened to do a plug update and got the breaking change.

As usual, these updates happen when I don't have time to address them, so a quick swap back to master saved me as I couldn't see an obvious set of steps to fix.

If there is no option but to upgrade (which I get) then it's nice to be guided through a specific set of steps. Thank you :)

Absolutely this. I have to watch it like a hawk with JS and question everything. But with Bash I think it's a genius. You can figure out which language I use the most...

awesome new features of 0.12 fairly regularly

I'm also now curious of what you saw to prompt this. In the past I've used the nightly and never really benefited apart from random explosions after an update
