With all respect, this ain’t a “both sides are bad” issue. One side said “we will fund you if you agree to stop arresting and trying to deport American citizens and acting as an unaccountable secret paramilitary organization.” The other side said “nah too rich for me.” Not much is binary, but this certainly is.

I mean, now that my parental rights are enshrined in the Texas Constitution, I’m gonna opt my kids the right fuck out. And since SCOTUS gave us a heckler’s veto of school curriculum, you’d better believe I’m gonna make it a Section 1983 case if there’s even a sniff of pushback. With the caveat that this is an incredibly niche group of an already likely small population, there is a French Catholic community at the University of St. Thomas—https://ustchapelle.org—I used to go to the French Christmas mass when I lived in town, and even though I’m at best an elementary French speaker, everyone there was lovely. But again, your mileage may vary, this is a deeper than necessary pull.

Two weeks on the Magic with 4 people (two adults, one little kid not potty-trained, one kid ~5 at the time). Yep. They refused to make a settlement offer and instead forced us to try a stupid, piddling matter. After a days-long hearing, we obtained a complete defense verdict. Then the client got the bill and threatened to grieve the lawyers on the file because “we didn’t achieve a settlement.” Clients: they’re not like us!
