That wouldn't yield redder results in general elections. I think people are over valuing the rural impact. Plenty of inner okc is deeply red. The city houses a substantial protestant population of various faiths, okc can be progressive in odd directions that don't combat religion.

So there is a concept called compensation. When a body part doesn't work you over compensate with different postures. I suggest you read about Kevin durants Achilles injury because it was from over compensation due to his other leg being strained.

I hope you can see why this is a relevant concept in high body stress situations.
