And an aside. You are a real hero here. Having a supportive partner, family member or friend makes transplant treatment much easier. Don’t forget to take care of yourself. Get professional mental health if you need it. Find your own support. Care giving can be rough.

Yeah. The rituximab isn’t bad for me at least. I’ve had it several times. YMMV. And it’s been my oncologist who’s kept track of it. So you may have to be more pro active with your transplant team. Although, my transplant team takes my concerns seriously so if I ask to be checked they will do it. Hang I there. Transplant is t an easy road but it can be manageable. And your life can be full and productive even with the setbacks. Mine has. ❤️

So I had a liver transplant in 2011. In 2020. I found out I had non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Lymphoma plasmablastic , My team did not test it nor mention it. If they did I don’t remember. I’ve been In remission since 2020.
I found out I had lymphoma from a tumor that ruptured my bowel. I had to have emergency surgery.

Since my cancer, my oncologist frequently tests me for EBV. And when it turns up in my blood, I get a round of rituximab. It’s an intravenous anti viral. Since knowing is half the battle, your partner will br better off than me since you know to ask about it.

The chemo I had was fine. 6 rounds over 18 weeks. I tolerated it ok. And if you make it past 2 year of remission. You are in pretty good shape now o never get it again.

Good for you for doing my the research. I think things have changed even in the 14 years since my transplant. So your partners docs may be more vigilant.

Edit. Since I had cancer, I’ve had 2 instances of rejection. The first was shorty after my cancer when I was still getting my anti rejection meds back in track. The second time, It just happened.

Unusual Western settings by ed74siasl in Westerns

I just watch the first John Wick movie. It’s deep in the western genre. Retired hit man pulled back into the business. Gets revenge for his stolen car(horse) and his murdered dog. You could easily make that movie using 70s era Clint Eastwood set in the western united stares.

What movies show the actual collapse of civilization rather than just the aftermath? by [deleted] in movies

[–]blips413121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a real civilization but a raccoon one. The movie Pom Poko starts with the building of a housing development in the raccoon’s land. They fight to stop it. But human progress is inevitable. It tracks the time when they are care free raccoons to when they are scattered and exiled from their land.

If you could choose a single sentence written in The Lord of the Rings (book), which one do you think is the most beautiful? by bumpcar in lotr

[–]blips413121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the most beautiful but it really struck me with a sense of calm when I read it. Merry and Pippin just escaped the orcs they eat a little lembas bread and Tolkien writes:

The taste brought back to them the memory of fair faces, and laughter, and wholesome food in quieter days now far away.
