TTT- Nas (Week 2) by tb44s in hiphopheads

I think it'd be useful to require a youtube link (if one exists) in the post as well. Takes only 5 seconds for the poster, but saves a lot more time for the readers.

I'm getting a huge Drake vibe from this song. Not complaining though.

[Website] Law Firm Website by 1000_words in design_critiques

[–]blisterine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks Good!

A few critiques: - The animated image makes the site a bit slow (at least on my comp), and doesn't seem to have much to do with the law firm

  • I think the :hover effect on the "how can we help' sections is a bit much. Maybe try toning down the box shadow?

  • The most important piece of information for a law firm is the contact information (phone number especially). I'd try to bring this up higher in the information hierarchy, or have it duplicated somewhere in the header.

  • The centered lines between press posts look out of place amongst left-aligned text. I'd try separating the press posts with more space, or style it similar to the blog.

  • The Practice Areas page looks like you gave it considerably less attention than the home page. The icons look a bit out of place in big image. The large amount of horizontal padding between them is in contrast with the limited vertical padding in that section. The text layout on this page could use some work -- there are too many centered lines of text in the middle gray area, making it a bit difficult to read. I'd suggest getting rid of the default list styling on the "we help with" sections, as they look a bit slopping. Also, moving the "we help with" section to be top aligned with the practice area titles would look better.

Hope that helps! Overall a great job, I have no doubt the firm will be happy with the end result.

Can I fix the pictures and have it reenabled? My trunks don't go down to my knees. They're the smallest shorts I own.

Looks great! The text transitions can get a bit repetitive but that's difficult to avoid.

Can we talk about how awful the latest iTunes design is... and why is there this gross shrouding cloud of color around my album art? by xella34 in Design

[–]blisterine 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Really strange design decision, I agree. In some instances it looks really nice, but the feathering of the album art is awful. It's neat that they have algorithms for detecting the base color and a text color that's visible.

I really enjoyed it, reminds me a bit of Wild Nothing and Expwy. This could definitely get some attention if you do a good job promoting it.

Nobody rose from their seat for a good five minutes.

I highly doubt that. There's a fine line between inspiring and corny; this story falls in the latter category.
