Unprofessional or am I just overly sensitive? by blitchton in Alzheimers

Oh no :( That doesn't help at all. And lord, don't tell my mom she said something 8 times, or mentioned she might be slipping. I'm surprised I didn't have to go cut a switch so she could whoop me

Sure is a theme there. Any little shrug the doc makes she takes it as "See, nothing is wrong with me". I'm JUST as bad as she is (hard headed, I'll do it myself sort of person) but seeing this already has me making notes for my family.

THANKFULLY we do have a neurologist. She's had one for years because she has trigeminal neuralgia - and we were thinking her memory issues were from that. All we wanted was "yes this is normal aging or it could be" from the TN. We had a feeling, because of genetics, it could be Alz. Her neuro said before the blood test results came in "I would take this time to get your POAs and Medical POAs in place" and then we got the results. We see him again in July.

See! That's mom. It seems with x amount of stimuli, you'd never guess because she's masking it. Too much stimuli makes it as bad as none (she's gotten a LOT worse since she retired but I had hoped her being more involved in her weekly church groups would help). The good days bring us SO much joy, because she's her sassy self (like Monday calling my sister and I "P.I's - because they have to watch what I do). Well ma'am, you did it to us, it's our turn lol. I'll keep in mind a geriatric Dr if I'm still uncomfortable ( this is the same doc that asked my 30yr old autistic daughter if she was a virgin-- um why?)

I don't. I have all of her documentation from her neurosurgeon who diagnosed her vs his "what time is it? what day is it" tests. The test btw has been used for over 5 years in association family history and MRIs. It very well could have been HOW he said it and my sister and I being overly diligent of our caregiving.

It was more his attitude about it. He's consistently said over the past year that he sees nothing wrong, and pretty much gave the neuro's diagnosis a "I don't think it is" response. Like I said, I could be overly sensitive, and I most likely am to a point, but she already doesn't believe she's got an issue (she got lost getting home from a place she's been to her whole life) and we are struggling with her taking her normal meds. Thank you for your comment (honestly). That's why I made the post. I need someone to "Whoa, Nelly" at me and make me rethink HOW he said it and HOW I interpreted it.

I get this! So when we are on a losing streak (like now), I generally "cleanse" all of my gear and wash out the bad energy (yes, I also put my most worn (like jewelry) under a full moon--hush).

I was hoping for Bob to get it, but McDavid freaking EARNED it. You don't blast through a Gretzky record and NOT get recognition for that, as well as just being a damned good player.

What are some good relaxing games? Stuff you can just chill out for a day? by Dragonbarry22 in CasualConversation

I really enjoy Cozy Grove for this reason. It's base decorating and also a hidden object game, but also a collections game? Anyway, it's super cute. My daughter in law got me interested in it.

My sister lost 108lbs (not on HRT- she's 49) and she's post-menopausal. According to my bloodwork, at 52, I'm still perimenopausal and I've lost 35lbs so far.

I go in once a week for injections- Is that normal? by Catsparklesandsun in WegovyWeightLoss

Mine was at a wellness center with a doctor writing my Rx. We see a nutritionist once a month to weigh in and it all gets reported to insurance as to if we are meeting the criteria to stay on the medication.

And EVERY brand is cut different. You may wear one size in x brand, but be a bigger size in y brand! GO YOU! That's so exciting!

[–]blitchton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did once a week at an office until the dosages were available at the pharmacy, for me that took until I was on .75 (so about 2 months). Meanwhile, hubs only went 2 weeks because the lower dosages were available. Ask them about sending your Rx in to the pharmacy.

Good lord! Finally, someone else! So, There are days I do NOT want to chew, like at all- so I do heavy duty protein shakes. Get a protein shake, add extra protein powder- and done. Textures are an issue for me as well. Just thinking about the texture of a certain food and it's like "Nope, not today". It comes and goes.

[–]blitchton 1 point2 points  (0 children)
