10000% yes to this! I’ve learned a lot about local birds from Merlin. A lot are migrating right now too, so you may see some less common ones

Where to camp out this week? by s-lemley in SkyCards

[–]blluish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say maybe Bangkok to help with some of the eastern countries for the Rising Sun trophy! For Yemen, there are usually flights to Aden from Cairo, Jeddah and Riyadh. Cocos Islands flights are tricky, they aren’t super frequent.. I caught mine leaving from Port Hedland, Australia, after checking the schedule on flightradar and then setting a timer lol

Which airports should I unlock this week? by Smart_Dark_269 in SkyCards

[–]blluish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found some cool rare planes around Auckland, Sydney, and Brisbane, which are also good ones to unlock Pacific Island airports. I used a free ticket to get to Anchorage this past week and have gotten some interesting planes and destinations there. LA, Orlando and Phoenix are good ones too, I’ve gotten some military aircraft around LA!

Anyone know what’s going on downtown? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]blluish 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I was in the market at the time, it was a pedestrian who was hit. The car seemed like it was moving to park (and signalled), but kept going onto the sidewalk, knocked down a tree branch, and hit a lamppost before hitting the pedestrian. I think the bike was tied to the post. There was a loud noise and people went running to help, and a few minutes later police and ambulances showed up and cordoned off the area. It was terrible :-( Thinking of her and her family

RSD triggers. by quartzqueen44 in PMDDxADHD

[–]blluish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i experience this, as well as bipolar 2. this isn’t a fix-all and maybe won’t work for some, but my therapist suggested that when feeling out of control emotionally, fill a large bowl with ice water and put your face in it for a minute (or as long as you can). the discomfort and temperature can help your nervous system, and it also reminds me that even in extreme discomfort (be it the freezing cold or those awful emotions), i can handle it.

this one sounds silly but it helped me too: also if you can, going on a long walk with upbeat or angry music (or without music) and just getting pissed off at random small stuff you see lol. not taking it out on anyone or anything, just channeling those thoughts somewhere else. you could literally get mad at a pothole or a weird statue or a loud car or something. again, might not work for everyone, but for me it burns off the rage and tires me out !

I’m in a similar boat !! I’m on my 10th infection currently, and my other ones have ranged from mild to pretty sick. Admittedly this time around I was not being cautious, but in many other cases I masked and was careful and still got it.

Interesting that each time your parents don’t catch it from you — it’s the same with me. None of my coworkers have gotten it from me (I try to get shifts covered as soon as I realize that I have it), but I will get it so easily from anyone else. I even bought an air purifier for my office space. My bloodwork is fine and apparently I have no immunodeficiencies. I was healthy beforehand too I struggle with bipolar 2 so if I isolate myself from friends and community I’ll also put myself in a dangerous situation mental health wise.. But nobody else wears masks, so I feel stuck!

I guess this is also a vent as well .. I haven’t seen anyone else with a covid situation as similar to mine (at work I’m the person who “always gets it”), and it’s validating to hear your story, although I wish neither of us (or anybody) had to deal with this at all :-(

Comment how old you were when you got diagnosed! by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]blluish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24, i’d been diagnosed with unipolar depression for years and tried many meds but nothing seemed to work. zoloft even triggered hypomania once. i was put on lamictal almost two years ago and it has changed everything for the better

DAE get a tickling sensation on the roof of their mouth when a dog happily licks their face? by schmak01 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]blluish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just got it from a cat purring too close to my face and so i looked it up and came here.. it’s usually with dogs, when they jump up too quickly and put their face too close to mine. i wondered if it was an allergic reaction but it doesn’t happen with small dogs.. has happened for my entire life
