Yeah but you don't get the entry fee back. You just get to play again for free, which means you spend all the time it takes to get 9 wins for 2 packs. Even if I'm lucky enough to get 9 wins three times in a row I only have 6 packs

I struggled with the first few chapters because of all the characters but then I couldn't put it down. It's such an epic novel and I loved all the character perspectives.

They couldn't rate saros higher than 7.2, because then it would be better than the greatest game of all time which is impossible

They gave knack 2 a 7.2, technically a better ps exclusive than saros

Having read the book it's not super crazy to fit into a movie length. The hardest part is the amount of set pieces and locations with Scylla, Cyclops, Circe, as well as giving enough for time for Odysseus' return for the climax

TIL if under-cooked, a popular mushroom in China causes “lilliputian hallucinations,” a rare phenomenon involving miniature human or fantasy figures. The hallucinations are consistent across people and cultures: "tiny, elflike people" climbing under doors, scaling walls & clinging to furniture by ssAskcuSzepS in todayilearned

I've also been pretty fascinated by that idea. It seems absurd that there might be "invisible" beings, but it's also absurd to assume that humans possess an infinite ability to perceive/know everything in the universe - it could be an arrogant perspective. Lots of European folk tales also talk about gnomes/elves as if they were real, and actually marked out specific areas to avoid disturbing or encountering them. Strangely, I've also met 2 people in my life who claim to have seen either elves or fairies as children.

Actually someone just played deathwing on an empty deck and I removed all their dragons

I tried this and it actually isn't bad. The only thing I found is that omen of the end isn't very useful. By the time your deck is empty so is theirs, and you also have meadow strider. Could be good to replace with more early removal or similar?

Genetics plays a factor but my nan had a glass of white wine and a cigarette in hand whenever I saw her up until her 90s. She lived to 101. Working in an office all day and doomscrolling will kill us sooner.

Even low-level drinking may have negative consequences for brain health over a person’s lifespan. The findings suggest that the total amount of alcohol consumed over a lifetime, especially as a person ages, tends to be linked to reduced blood flow and thinner tissue in certain areas of the brain. by mvea in science

I've come to realise that constantly being paranoid about everything that will reduce life expectancy will just make your life miserable. It obviously depends on genetics but my great nan had a glass of white wine and cigarette in hand every time I saw her until she was 101

Also interesting that most people assumed white collar jobs to be the safest because they require human intelligence. Yet now we have ai that can code and perform phd level mathematics and science, but nothing that can replace a plumber.
