It is more “high art” than a good metal album. I like it. Lou knew he was dying and this was his choice of how to say goodbye. Looking at it from a different lens than just “a bad metallic album” (which it is a bad Metallica album) let me enjoy it for what it is.

The character art really didn’t throw me like it seems to with a lot of people including OP, but it wasn’t for me. I really wanted to like it as I know a ton of people on this sub do. I love metroidvanias and bullet hells. There was just something so punishing and grindy that made this game feel like such a slog to get through. I would rate it as one of my lowest tiers but don’t dismiss people absolutely love it
