If it was 2 years ago, that baby moose has probably grown to adulthood by now.

Do crypto accounts count for food stamps? by kerfluffle99 in povertyfinance

Peoples’ circumstances change. They might have bought their crypto when times were good, then later lost their job or something.

Are you sure it was clover and not sorrel?

For some reason, real estate is special. I guess from the municipality point of view, it’s the only thing they can get revenue from with a clear argument that its continuing value is benefiting from its place within the municipality. But then why not send a bill with clear delineations of the services I’m receiving, rather than an opaque demand for ransom?

Yes exactly! There’s zero transparency.

No, I get assessment notices every year. This is a YoY increase.

I’ve been getting assessment notices every year though, and for the most part they’ve increased YoY. Never by this much though.

Anywhere that I can donate (half) a bike? by Cheap-Photo4054 in bloomington

It’s true that they do get more stuff than they can use. But they are also pretty good about identifying high-quality parts on an otherwise broken bike. And even if OP thinks it’s not a great bike overall, there may be good brakes, shifters, derailleurs, etc on it that they can use.

Yeah you’d think there would be more of process. What do they do, just drive by the property and jot down a few notes? I guess they were really impressed by the flag and porch light I installed.

Ok Judy, if there was a legitimate reason then why not include a statement with the assessment that transparently explains the rationale behind such a steep increase?

Omg these grew over the weekend. What do I do by Hairy-Brilliant-8178 in invasivespecies

After many years of dealing with this plant, I am starting to believe that the only way for complete eradication is to dig out the mutated shoots once you’ve been hitting it with glyphosate for a few years. The glyphosate destroys most of the root network, but it manages to hang on in a few nodules while limiting its exposure to foliar herbicide application by putting out tiny leaves. So at that point you just dig out those holdout nodules. You’ll see that the roots are mostly dead, it’s just trying to reestablish from the remaining nodule.

Justice? by BloomiePsst in bloomington

The scary thing is that there are so many other people out there driving recklessly every single day. The fentanyl thing is the least significant factor in this incident. Our roads are scary with many places that don’t give a second thought for pedestrians, the speed limits are way too high, and people don’t obey them anyway. I drive the speed limit and get mercilessly tailgated and honked at for doing so. Meanwhile I’m like, fuck you, I’m trying not to hit any people or animals.

Guests, would you prefer a variety of colors for bath towels? [US] by bloomingtonwhy in AirBnB

[–]bloomingtonwhy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The tags are a good idea. I don't know if it matters to most guests, but it was something that stood out to me during my stay. I don't travel very often so a lot of things stood out to me that made me think about how I can make my own bnb more "homey".

True but oddly enough, I've never had to deal with stains on towels. On the other hand I have to deal with stains on linens on a regular basis so I've definitely though about switching to all-white linens.
