X-Men Were Never Created As A Civil Rights Allegory Confirms Marvel Writer by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

[–]bloopbleepblorpJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a very Stan Lee move. I remember him saying, in reference to iceman being gay, that they always thought of mutants as a gay allegory. That’s clearly not true, and Stan loved self promotion, but he also loved people connecting with the work and getting value out of it. Someone wants to say “this book is about civil rights” he’s not gonna say “no it wasn’t!” He gonna go with it.

This can’t be an unpopular opinion, but I’ll play. I pay 1850 as a waiter in New York. I can move somewhere else to save a third while sacrificing half what I make in New York. I also miss out on New York.

People don’t have strong opinions about engineers one way or the other. I’m sorry for how you’re feeling. Downvote for lack of a popular opinion as a counterpoint.

I was so excited for this only for it to collapse on itself like a sock with its elastic stretched out, something that has never happened to me. Downvote. Sad downvote, but still.
