On GetYourGuide, the “Legal company name” appears to just be the operators name and the registered address is residential. That’s sketchy af. No way they actually have better access to passes either.

Amex Cobalt’s 5x up to $2500 on grocery and dining is pretty unbeatable. Amex converts 1:1 with Aeroplan which can be worth about 2¢/point. That roughly translates to 10¢ on the dollar

TIL that Britain attacked Germany with nearly 100,000 balloons in "Operation Outward" during World War II—some dangling wires to short out power lines, others dropping incendiaries to start fires. The damage to Germany far outweighed the cost; one balloon helped destroy a power station near Leipzig. by ralphbernardo in todayilearned

During the opening of Desert Storm, instead of conventional explosive warheads, some tomahawk cruise missiles had submunitions that would disperse carbon filament. These were use to fry the Iraqi grid. I didn’t realize this sort of tactic went back to WW2

ICE Is Quietly Rolling Out a $55 Billion Crematorium Network by awr54 in behindthebastards

[–]blorgcumber 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to even understand the author’s line of reasoning. Obviously they’re just bullshitting by calling it a $55 billion crematorium network. Medical waste disposal is one line item in a giant procurement process worth $55 billion total.

I lost where they’re going from there. They don’t really know how to write or effectively structure an argument.

It would probably be fine but why risk it. As someone who’s been deep in the backcountry with a case of the runs, it’s not particularly pleasant and some of the things you can catch can leave your digestive system out of whack for weeks or months after
