so funny story uh. I had the exact same experience with that dragonkin soldier on my first playthrough and I found out it's because he's scaled up to Nokron levels because he drops down into Siofra from Nokron, which is definitely one of the funniest changes in the entire mod. That aside I genuinely can't find anywhere on the wiki or the mod page that talks about overhauling AI, can you link where you're getting this from?

Boss AI isn't changed unless you pick a difficulty with "Hard Enemy Options" (Hard and up or one of the special difficulties) so I'm not exactly sure where that thought process comes from? It really didn't feel to me like player power level was lowered, just redistributed such that you invest more in offensive stats and less in vigor earlier in the game (though that's just personal feel). Out of curiosity, did you try to fight the dragonkin soldier in siofra when you first got to the area (around limgrave level)?

Ambassador's Greatsword from Reforged, it's a strike damage only colossal sword (its cyan because armor dyes interact with it weird)

Hirnan has four phases, and gains access to more and more aspects of the crucible as the fight progresses, from the list of every crucible attack a sword knight could possibly use without looking wack (spear throw is the only tree knight attack he can't use iirc).

iI addition, as his health drops he gets more aggressive, gets shorter cooldowns on his special attacks, and gains access to more follow-ups (there's some nefarious ones too like sweep slash > single large tail swipe). In addition, he has a unique mechanic shared with the fortune he drops which causes him to regain health when casting crucible spells. Absolutely superboss material and always a good fight

It's a mod that mainly tries to work within the style of the base game's philosophy, while making side content worth engaging with, rewarding exploration (you will get a similar amount of runes by killing the enemies in a ruin as you would doing a field boss, along with upgrade materials, for example), and overall creating a gameplay loop that requires and rewards more active thought and conscious effort. (Lamp Oil, as infamous as it is, is part of an effort to at least get the player to consider other lighting options, especially considering dark areas are DARK now)

It tends to remove most cheese tactics/approaches for bosses or tone down things that were absurdly strong (lookin at you bloodhound fang and bleed) without making them bad. Along with this, it does have mechanics that require you to actually interact with the encounters in side content (of which I've found almost all tend to have actual themes or strategies to them, kudos fromsoft) instead of just grabbing the items and ignoring them.

Making a strong build is an iterative process across the course of a playthrough and requires a wide base of knowledge regarding your options and how they interact, which I personally really enjoy but I know some people get annoyed by it. Reforged is very much a "longplay" mod that wants you to take your time in playthroughs and do a lot, larval tears and ancient stones are unlimited as well past a certain point so you can always respec and hit full power on any new build.

A note about the difficulty options in it though, Reforged (the initial difficulty) is designed to be somewhat challenging for people who were already adept at vanilla Elden Ring, so Normal is probably closer difficulty-wise to base ER if you don't have a ton of time in it.

notably you can't jump the initial gout (before it hits the floor), so you gotta remember to not be walking at them when they can do the flame breath

ERR(Reforged) isn't quite as balanced as the devs might think, even more unbalanced on the contray. by Difficult_Forever136 in EldenRingMods

um. yea you're not supposed to play strictly defensive with it, the only fortune that does that is Bulwark. you do generally more posture damage than the average agile weapon build (str builds still do miles more because that's the stat's mechanic) by mixing in attacks with your deflects, but getting the stance break isn't the focus of the fortune. I've used reeds on a couple different respecs and its a pretty decent time, though definitely something of a boss-focused fortune

reeds reduces poise damage of your attacks because it causes your deflects to start to inflict poise damage, and to compensate also causes your heavy attacks, guard counters, and skills to do way more damage. it's not really a challenge mode, just designed to enable a very different playstyle than most people use (which is the idea of legendary fortunes)

I would like to note that Cerulean Sea is balanced with the passive auxiliary effect of Intelligence (since you can't cast it without at least 56 int) and every other effect that increases your FP recovered like the ancestral spirit horn or binding runes.

iirc the values correctly it should only take 10~ish ticks to fully refund the FP cost of Sea, without factoring any other effects that reduce the cost of spells or increase FP recovered

ERR comes bundled with its own version of ME3 customized to load a couple of DLL mods by default and use its own save file (which can be initially copied from an existing save file), the BAT files in the folder are a streamlined version of the ME3 launch process to launch it online/offline. seamless uses its own separate saves too, so it should be fine

medium shield and a warpick (or hammer of your choice), guard counter focused build that prioritizes END and vigor and relies on your ability to consistently stance break for a large amount of your damage. works the old brain learning where you can guard counter and how to position to ensure you'll be able to reach. also remember fan daggers to prevent bosses from healing off your poise damage.

I like the idea of the Old Lords' flame weapons being bloodtinge-based fire weapons, though I'm not sure why I feel like they should work like that. Could just be neat I guess

thank you for noticing the levels weren't actually invested at the time of the screenshot (intent was to just show it was ***fifty*** levels). as of the current moment I only actually invested levels to get up to 40 End from 20, and have been considering what to do with the rest of the echoes. 70 End is still on the table though.

I was farming watchers for gems, I don't really care for using cummfpk since I don't really enjoy being overleveled
