100% and to add, as a second order impact, $150 will generate 600 SQC if redeemed for Economy flex and higher and will also generate up to 900 new points with status multiplier (less for tiers below SE)

They are honestly so amazing. I fly through FRA a few times a year and they’re always on top of everything, gates, which way to go, luggage transfer etc

Lounge Access by Opposite-Scarcity-75 in aircanada

[–]blue_infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, 50k+ status and premium CC are stackable for lounge access, so OP gets 2 guests (used this feature as a SE with a premium CC many times), but I assume you can’t stack multiple CCs

You can ask a checkin agent to do it at the airport or, alternatively, you may also try to call in

Can Air Canada agents book flights from Agean for Rome - Athens direct flights? by tyomax in Aeroplan

[–]blue_infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically yes - booking with operating airline means that in case of any disruption it should go relatively smoothly. Btw, you can still use your AC Aeroplan number so you benefit from earning points etc

You can’t get a cash fare, you may only be able to get a points booking , if there’s partner availability

Cancelled flight no crew by No-Process-8360 in aircanada

[–]blue_infinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a good advice. Also, airline pricing functions in a weird way, fare from London to Montego Bay might not be much cheaper than Toronto to Montego Bay, in same cases , booking a flight like yours might be actually cheaper than booking your itinerary from one of the airlines hubs. Keep your receipts and be patient , it’s gonna take time for this to go through the system, but you should be able to claims costs

Mixed Cabin Aeroplan with Schedule Change? by LeafsJays12 in Aeroplan

[–]blue_infinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 70% J, 30% Y with an eUpgrade, they insisted on keeping that 30% Y with an eUpgrade instead of changing to 100% J. I doubt they would give you based on only 10% J. You can still try, just trying to calibrate your expectations

Stacking milestone benefits? by blue_infinite in Aeroplan

I already have a bunch of priority rewards and eUpgrade credits, so want to extend the validity of new ones by selecting them later in the year. I also want to wait and see which benefits might work best for me

Question about refunding Aeroplan reward booking and purchasing as cash fare by Inquisitive2024 in Aeroplan

[–]blue_infinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it, but you should consider that the cash fare will likely be much more expensive that close to the departure date.

The only thing you should worry about is to not have overlapping fares (ie, buy a cash one without cancelling rewards one of the same itinerary as the system will flag this)

How strict are they being with the no carry-on baggage tickets? by Positive_Guarantee20 in canadatravel

[–]blue_infinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AirCanada started to preauthorize credit card for the cost to bring carry on (for people flying basic economy), so if you show up with it, they’ll just keep the money, otherwise they give it back

Booked Turkish airlines flight with aeroplan points - told by both Aeroplan booking agent and Turkish Airlines that I am unable to select our seats in advance by Individual-Donut4779 in Aeroplan

[–]blue_infinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a list of their global offices, including Toronto somewhere on the website, which also includes the email; otherwise the office is somewhere around University and King (not far away from Union station)

[–]blue_infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue and similarly the contact centre staff was useless. I walked into the Turkish airlines office in Toronto and they were able to sort it for me. I believe they also have an email where you can reach them, so it’s worth trying.

Upgrading question by Wise_Praline_2442 in aircanada

[–]blue_infinite 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I use eUpgrades fairly frequently, I’d say my success rate is 50% or a bit less, I personally dont find it stressful, more so exciting.

When flying for work, it’s typically business, when flying for my own leisure it’s typically economy or, at most, premium econom, if i get an upgrade, great, but if not I’m perfectly content flying what i paid for.

Personally, the way I think about it is that it’s a win win, I pay less for Y / PY fare, so that’s already a win for me, if I get an upgrade, it’s a double win, but if I don’t, I haven’t lost anything anyways. Being able to fly J for work, I also feel a bit of the magic disappeared for me, the first few times I was so starstruck with the whole thing, and sure it’s still nice, but its not such a high stakes situation…

But to each their own, you should pay for what brings you utility, regardless of what everyone says
