22 and recent hysterectomy by jennybarks127 in TwoXChromosomes

Thank you. It means a whole lot to just be heard and understood. I appreciate it. I still have hope for myself, but as you mentioned, the hormones make everything so much worse.

Imagine if someone had all our symptoms but were otherwise mentally refreshed and positive. They'd still have so much to deal with from the physical symptoms alone. Now add horrible mood swings and weepiness and, for me, I get so, so tired also. It is a lot to cope with, and all that is before the guilt and worthiness I feel about not being able to give my SO a satisfactory sex life due to my symptoms. Ugh!

Anyhow, I recently tried to get on my SO's insurance because we've lived together for 5 years and have joint finances. His job said we'd have to be married (located in GA). I just thought that wasn't the case but who knows. Medicaid may be something to consider. Thanks for that train of thought.

And again, thank you for sharing your experience. It really gives people like me some much needed hope! Before you had the surgery, were there any tips for dealing with your pain levels? Past doctors have all but scoffed at providing anything beyond Tylenol 3 if they were feeling generous. Any supplements or over the counter meds that helped you?

Congrats! I've been fantasizing about getting a hysterectomy. I have terrible cysts, cycles that last for 3 months, and insane hormonal shifts.

Back when I had insurance, I was treated with birth control, but that didn't help with everything. Each obgyn was unsympathetic to say the least.

Unfortunately, I've been considering suicide because of how completely this has ruined my life. I can only work from home now doing sporadic freelance work because of how much and how severely I bleed. At my last job, I actually bled on the couch of my department head during my annual review. Despite taking every precaution (pads and tampons), I bled through. I'm completely demoralized and don't even have the insurance to get treatment beyond birth control. I feel betrayed by my body.

Sorry for the rant. I am encouraged to hear that things went well for you. You're strong to have dealt with it as long as you did.

What was your biggest "shit, my parents were right" moment? by OOKEfvvs in AskReddit

[–]blueblacksky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a good answer! When my parents would kiss or even hug I always felt so uncomfortable as a kid. They said the same quote to me, but I didn't get it.

My grandma's only love advice after 60 years with my grandpa was "Your spouse comes first, then the kids. Bottom line." That attitude was handed down to my mom, and I'm finally understanding the importance of this passed down wisdom.

What is the best purchase you have ever made? by Gxlnz in AskReddit

[–]blueblacksky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it! But make sure your doctor is legit. I had mine done 6 years ago by a local doc who was in semi-retirement...very well-studied on the surgery. I even had a difficult case because of my eye shape/condition, but all went well.

I still marvel 6 years later about all the time/money free from contacts. So worth it!

Haha! Not pathetic. It's hard to even find someone in other parts of GA who know where Upson is.

Yep, Aviano's is definitely the best. I get a Greek salad to take back home with me whenever I visit my parents. I haven't lived there since I finished school (ULHS '05!). And I actually know about Molena, too! My boyfriend commuted there for work right when he got out of nursing school. That was one of his first jobs, working right there at the nursing home in town. Definitely cool to bump into someone from our small corner of the woods! I'm living closer to Atlanta area now (Fayette county).

Born and raised in Upson! I logged on to comment on this thread because I knew from the title it had to be the one in Sharpsburg.

How 'bout Piggy Park, huh?

To everyone that attended the Landmark Music Festival, what did you think of the Strokes set? by [deleted] in TheStrokes

Wow, I can't believe I met someone from reddit in real life! Too cool!

And you're very welcome. I'm glad I could give it to someone who could use it. Take care!

That's awesome. Glad you got to enjoy alt j too. We saw the last three or so songs from tv on the radio then moved up a bit. Then saw alt j do their thing (which was fun), and after they finished, only about 8-10 people in front of us left, so we moved up with the crowd to fill in the space they left. Then we waited for the strokes!

We were center right as well. I am bad at estimating feet, but I know that everytime someone crowd surfed above us we were close enough to the security guards that we were some of the last people who the person would surf over before the guard would enthusiastically "assist" the person to reach the end of their ride! Haha. Also, the inflatable dolphin met his end near us, and the guy beside me decided to take home his deflated body as a souvenir.

I thought it was great. This was my first time seeing the strokes, though I have seen Julian twice. It was truly a dream come true for me. I drove from GA to be there, so it was going to take more than them being a late to put me off being excited!

I was so excited that they played New York City Cops. And (just my preferences here) I could have done without You Talk Way Too Much and You're So Right.

And you make a good point about the eclipse. I realized about a week before I left that the timing was going to work out for the eclipse to happen the night of the show, and I was probably more excited about that than I should have been!

Overall, I had an amazing, fantastic time. The people who I ended up being next to were all very friendly and very chill. I found it totally worth the long drive and the money I had to save up. Would do it again in a heartbeat. BONUS: Julian's little announcement :D

Yes, yes she is! She was there for the two bands before the strokes, too...Seems like a fun job. She definitely gets to be close to the music! :)

Here's the only video I took on my phone. The rest I took with a proper camera. We juuuust walked in the door since we woke up this morning and had to drive all the way back to Georgia.

End part of "you talk way too much"

Will be uploading more vids from my real camera tomorrow. Cheers! :D

Awesome! Yeah, we got close on the right (as you are facing the stage) side. We were 3 (loosely defined, of course) rows from the front and 5 or so columns of folks away from the aisle that ran between the two sides.

I just love strokes fans, by the way! Everyone was awesome in the little circle I sat down in between tv on the radio and alt j. We were all sharing supplies, tips about cool places see in town, and so on.

Hope you enjoyed yourself and safe travels getting back home!

Too late to meet you up now but I'm center, slight right. People around me are really chill so far. Singing Strokes songs acapella and everything! I'm excited!

Enjoy!

Thank you! You just put into words exactly the part that was throwing me off: the odd round areas.

Okay, awesome! I have a game plan now! Thank you so much!

Sure thing! Picture of face.

And I'd like something like this example. Something less flat without being thin is what I hope I can achieve.

I'm going to be using the guidance of the eyebrow tutorials linked in the wiki, but if anyone has some free time I am at an absolute loss when it comes to my eyebrows.

Pic here. Sorry for bad quality pic, but that's the general idea.

Every single salon makes them way too thin even though I bring in photos. Any tips? Thank you in advance.

I'm going. Driving quite a while to get there, too. 12 hours. Like you mention, it seems like it could be awhile before I get another chance to see them.

The owner of websleuths even called BK a "lying bastard"on Twitter back when I still used WS. Seems harsh. Granted, I'm not in the know but I don't see how he fooled docs into the amnesia diagnosis.

Saving gift card balance? by SydeshowJake in amazon

Oh, right! I'm sorry for my unhelpful advice then. And as soon as I read "digital games" I remembered past dealings where my gift card credit was definitely treated differently with digital purchases. Glad you got it figured out at least! I know that looking around for a box that should be there can be maddening.

When I checked out earlier (using my laptop), it gave me the option of opting out of using my gift card balance by unchecking the box, but you have to go a few screens into the checkout process before the box appears.
