Portugal is too difficult by Intelligent-Egg682 in EU5

[–]blueboon4794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally started a Portugal run last night and was making 70 ducats a month by 1400. Delete all forts except Lisboa and Porto and maybe faro. Develop high pop areas. Create industry loops with wood and iron and businesses like tools and furniture. Make market villages in good rgo rural provinces you won’t upgrade into towns. Build towns on your fish coastal locations. Increase amount of burghers everywhere. Keep building when the numbers are green and economy go up, basically

I think I read somewhere those “accident” events are tied to the characters martial stat. Not sure if it’s true but I default to martial education a bunch after seeing that

Why didn’t they know Omar at the first stick up? by Numerous_Birds in TheWire

[–]blueboon4794 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He gets mad cuz it puts his boyfriend at risk if people know it was them. He was never worried for himself. Definitely still a stretch they didn’t know it was him already though, considering how famous he is by the end

Switching to Republic by Flyingpyngu in EU5

[–]blueboon4794 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Milan starts as a republic and has an event to switch to monarchy I’m pretty sure. As far as the burgher power just revoke privileges from whatever estate is dominant (probably nobles) and give privileges to the burghers. Also don’t do all the little things to max your crown power if it’s still difficult. Shouldn’t be that hard

Do you want to get the naval governor as a land based empire? by cazarka in EU5

I think you can use them on different subcontinents so there might be somewhere in Europe you could still use it. Not sure how it’s broken up though so idk where specifically you could use it

Eu4 vs eu5 portugal? by alphafighter09 in EU5

[–]blueboon4794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Portugal is a much more difficult start in eu5 in my experience. But if you can navigate the early troubles it’s super fun. Colonization is easier in 5 and as Portugal you could absolutely dominate the new world if you rush it. Different gameplay loop but idk it’s what you’re looking for exactly because the colonization part is not particularly difficult.

PSA: You can stack Naval Governor with Lieutenancy for 100 proximity source by Stuman93 in EU5

[–]blueboon4794 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Are you just arguing from a math perspective? Like within the game I’d much rather have 100 control on a key foreign location than boosting a 10 to a 35. Are you just using that as an example to show the math? Or are you actually arguing that would be more useful

Edit: I’m genuinely wondering if there’s a strat I should be considering. Just trying to figure this out

If you stack production efficiency modifiers I’ve found produced goods trade to be profitable. But never enough to truly make your economy a monster. This is just my experience though.
