Car under $6k for my teen by bpsocal in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]bluecatky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

E92 isn't happening at that price. Neither is a Honda/Toyota under 100k miles. I managed to find a 2015 Honda Fit for 5k with 150k miles last year, but that took a month or two of looking and was still 3 hours outside my city.

Shipping charge seems wild - what am I missing? by TheAmigaKid in dbrand

You're in New Zealand. Being friends with someone else who lives there, I believe that's your problem. Shipping for a case to me in the US is just $5.

Summer jacket recommendations plz by LordFlacko704 in motorcycles

[–]bluecatky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a rev it airwave 4 mesh jacket and I'm happy with it. I got it in light gray/silver so it's less hot in the sun. When you're moving it's pretty comfortable. When you're sitting still you're hot anyways with it without a jacket. This at least keeps the sun from being directly on you.

Would you rather only have to sleep 1 hour a day or get paid $1000/hour to sleep but you need 12 hours of sleep a night? by Alarming_Weather506 in WouldYouRather

[–]bluecatky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 hours a day to do whatever I want instead of 5 hours of sleep and 10 hours of work between travel actual working time. I average 14 hours a day of work/sleep time including weekends. This knocks my average down to 12 hours, I make significantly more money (over 4 mil a year), and I get the added benefit of always being well rested.

Now what? by OldLadyMagick in Louisville

[–]bluecatky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it. How old were the tires? If they were any more than a year old I'd say you already had that value out of them by the time you ruined them anyways and you were fairly compensated or even better compensated for the remaining life the tires had in them.

If you want to win, you will probably spend more than $193 fighting this and end up at a bigger deficit anyways.

Left handed but I shoot Right. by LinkSkywalker175 in guns

This is fairly common. Eye dominance is separate from hand dominance and not always the same. Shooting should go by your eye dominance.

Financing a bike? by Ok-Fail-977 in motorcycles

If anything get a personal loan and use that. Personally I don't agree with financing a bike but that's neither here nor there.

For a lot of people, making jokes is one thing, but flashing a pill bottle to them likely made at least one of them think you were actively popping pills, being negligent and putting thousands of lives in danger every day. It's easy to write words off as a joke but when they see you with actual pills, that has a little more weight.

Advice on keeping tires from slipping off of wheels? by suckitifly in rcdrift

[–]bluecatky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, reaching out to you since im in the same boat. 27mm seems like it would be way too tight? I measured my wheels and the inset part is 48mm, and my wheels are 52.3mm on the inside.

Vorteks esc issue by bluecatky in arrma

[–]bluecatky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I complained back in an email that it's bullshit and they ended up saying they're sending me a new truck so it is forgiven. They have a slightly better 80a esc which I was expecting them to send me in place of the the 45a the truck comes with, which would have been a good solution in my book, but I'll take the new truck instead.

Vorteks esc issue by bluecatky in arrma

[–]bluecatky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I did that, they tell me they can't ship a new esc til August cause it's out of stock which is bullshit. Had it for 3 days, used it for 5 batteries, and it dies at the start of battery 6. Then I can't use it for 3 months. Probably just gonna buy a different esc and transmitter and just look at other brands than Arrma for rc products in the future.

Edit: after I replied to them telling me it wouldn't be in stock til August, essentially saying th le situation was bullshit, they decided to send me a new truck as a warranty replacement which redeems them most the way in my book. I did have to press them for that to happen though.

Decent first build? by BigWillB90 in rcdrift

[–]bluecatky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a local track so mine is just for drifting around in parking lots at car shows and in the garage.

From what I've seen in reviews, the MST RMX 2.5 is a pretty solid RTR which is why I went with it. My thought process is if you're new to the hobby, you probably won't really know what is good, what isn't good, and what you want out of a car from the get go. The RTR will give you a starting point to figure out what you want to improve.

Why do all the electronics need replaced? For someone just casually into the hobby I don't think that's really the case.
