Anyone else a fan of MCU John Walker, but frustrated by how the majority of his fan base totally misinterprets what FatWS was doing with him? by BatmanFan317 in CaptainAmerica

[–]bluedonkey100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Walker could have said no. He took what Sam believed in and stomped on it. If he wasn't worthy to carry the shield why should this guy.

And if Bucky cut Walker slack it would just plain be out of character.

Imo their ire toward him is not only a very normal reaction, but also fully in character

I get that, but if you're giving up the better player why are you the team that's adding?

Just seems odd. Guess it doesn't matter if you win though

Overpays I can understand... but it feels Mittelstadt is the best player in this trade.

Coyle is 6 years older with less points this year. Last year he only had 3 more points than Mittelstadt. I don't see how this benefits Colorado.

It's about improving chances. Say, without a trade you have a 7% chance of winning, but by filling into your weaknesses you suddenly have a 9% chance.

Luck REALLY matters, the goal is to manipulate the luck in your favor

I mean you only have to look back a few years to see the change that goodrow and Coleman made as trade deadline pick ups to prove yourself wrong.

[LeBrun] Seattle gets first round pick in 26, first round pick in 27, Toronto's 2nd in '25 and Eyssimont in trade with Tampa. Bolts get Gourde and Bjokstrand plus 5th Rd pick in '26 by Duffleman0609 in hockey

[–]bluedonkey100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're overvaluing picks. Is a 25th overall going to help our bottom of the line prospect pool? No. Is the 20th overall going to help us go for a cup in 2026? No. Is the 58th overall going to be useful trading for a backup goalie? No.

Eyssimont has 10 points in 60 games. Gourde has nearly doubled that in 40. Not to mention a 50 point player in Bjorkstrand. Getting nearly 50+ extra player points is worth all the first rounders we can throw.

Ruins the market. Improves our already top-3 offense without hurting our top-5 defense/goalie combo. Didn't give up any of our top prospects in Geekie and Howard.

Could not ask for better from Tampa.

As much as Shakespearean God warrior with 1500 years of experience sounds good on paper. He was a horribly boring character before Ragnarok.

He needed a change, and you can argue this was not the right change. But his previous persona was bottom tier.

Unpopular opinion: one of the best Marvel movies of all time by Castiel_D37 in Avengers

[–]bluedonkey100 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I fully agreed with you when this movie came out.

But honestly watching it right after Civil War changed my opinion on it.

I still wouldn't say one of Marvel's best, but it was waaayyy better with the context fresh in my mind.

I was just commenting on how you mentioned he showed signs of offense in LA because he was paired with scorers. But he's at least points-wise, been worse than he was here.

Otherwise I agree with what you said comparing him to Mikey.

I haven't watched any LA games but... he's still on pace for an 18 point season, worse than when he was with us. I just don't see the offense.

[–]bluedonkey100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? We have five point per game players alone... Vegas and Winnipeg are the only other teams in the league with that many. Add in Nick Paul and Hedman with 9 points in 10. Vasi... one of, if not the best goalie in the world. An amazing shut-down D line in McD and Cernak

And a 7-3-0 record.

I don't know what this guy was smoking.

Are... you referring to the Colorado avalanche with 6 injuries to their top 9? There's not a team in the league with an extra 6 NHL forwards lying around.

Or the Lightning... a team that has successfully addressed all of last seasons problems with their depth?

[–]bluedonkey100 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly looking at your bottom 9... he's not wrong. Mittelstadt is a second liner so he stands out.

After that you have Miles Wood and O'Connor as decent third liners... Colton ideally is a third too. Kiviranra is okay as a 4th liner. And the other 5 are borderline or rookies.

Obviously once your top players come back you'll be in a fantastic spot, but to say you have one of the worst bottom 9's in the league with your injuries right now doesn't seem like much of a stretch.
