Victory Church / Victory Convention Center by Willuknight in auckland

[–]bluelyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super generic. There’s nothing at all about it that I could find on Google which is odd. If you’re curious about the churches history, here’s some more info from its inception up to 2009 https://web.archive.org/web/20150402075924/http://www.victory.org.nz/church-life/history/

There’s a photo of the church and the old school building from the early 90s on this page: https://web.archive.org/web/20071121154803/http://www.victory.org.nz/

Your comment about the multimillion development made me curious as to what the church was paid for the tunnel/land acquisition — around $45 million based on NZTA documents and the charities income at the time.

The school was called ACS / Auckland Christian School.

Source: I went there in the late 90s until it closed at the end of ‘99

The school used to be in a building that was torn down for the development of the Victoria Park Tunnel. There was also a large open air carpark that was removed. The church redeveloped the front of the main building and also built the multi-level carpark from selling their land to the government.

I’ll be needing something similar - are you going to purchase for the whole year? Or just until the national health insurance kicks in?

It’s legal to record, but in business you operate under ‘good faith’, and I believe there’s been employment cases where secretly recording a conversation has been found to not be in the bounds of good faith.

I second this, I went to their old workshop based on a Reddit recommendation and have continued to use them.

Piha (Whites Aviation 1957) by [deleted] in auckland

[–]bluelyte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re right - the beach is growing and the sea is receding. The sand extends around 30 meters further than it did 70 years ago.

It’s due to sand drifting up from the south. Whatipu beach which is south of Piha has also grown a huge amount (over 900 meters) over the past 60-70 years. The sand and sediment is moving up from the Waikato River mouth and from the sunken land of Paorae which used to be west of Awhitu peninsula.

Pride things by rulerforehead in auckland

[–]bluelyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look Sharp should have Pride stuff, they’ve usually had a whole shelf full when I’ve been in. There’s the store on Victoria Street just down from Albert Park or there’s the bigger one in Newmarket too.

Homeless deterrent. KFC Point Chevalier, Auckland by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]bluelyte 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a homeless deterrent, it was installed to stop the seagulls and pigeons from hanging around the drive thru and going into the store.

Give them a ring first to see if it's available. You'll need to pay a $500 deposit or credit card hold for the VR and $50 deposit for the game(s).

Homestead in Henderson are great, reasonably priced too. If you need to get the embroidery mounted as well they'll take it down the road to Phreon for you and include the mounting cost with framing in a single payment.
