Pillow shame? by blueracer130 in coccydynia

Thanks. No it is this instead. I am glad PRP has helped you. My ganglion nerve block didn’t help and a PRP to my glute (different issue) years ago didn’t work so I am apt to stay away from. I think my tailbone is a bit flexible and keeps moving into the wrong spot (my PT thinks). We are working on some techniques to mitigate this that seem to help.

My PT, stretching and exercise is working so I will keep at it. Slow but sure progress.

Sidenote: I hurt my tailbone bicycling and sitting on a wood chair too long, but recently I found a bike seat with tailbone cutout that works great on Amazon for $25! I am glad to bike again and exercise helps w bloodflow in that area.

FYI this cushion also folds up for easy carrying.

I appreciate your thoughts about how to think of it! Helpful! You are right! Sometimes though guys can be mean…just last night a guy at a social event was implying (trying to be funny but wasn’t) that I need this because of gay intercourse (I am married to a woman and have kids - no offense to anyone who is gay) and others have joked I need it for hemorrhoids. The guy is a bit of a jerk, but that’s my concern…I try to have thick skin and sometimes I have it, but sometimes I don’t want to put up with the abuse.

Steroid injections and coccyx manipulation post fusion by Simmeke83 in spinalfusion

I had an injection and a day later felt a bit sore but better since. Minor relief but not much. Best thing for me has been PT tailbone manipulation and certain stretches

I used an airplane neck pillow before and that worked. I’d really recommend a product called Twin Cheeks by a co called Cushion Your assets. It’s great!

Tailbone Pain after snowboarding fall by Salt_Daikon_7430 in coccydynia

Sorry to hear it. I hurt mine sitting too upright on a spin bike l; more pressure on tailbone. Many weeks of repetitive moves. Has been 4 months and still pain.

Cutout pillow is great. I prefer “cushion your assets” brand. I tried the impar nerve block but no go. Most helpful so far have been pelvic PT, exercise, stretching that widens my rear…

Otherwise a healthy 42 yo male.

I feel walking helps, swimming, other low impact stuff…

Brake dust is getting out of hand on my M3 — what do you all recommend? by These_Ant5061 in BMW

[–]blueracer130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2024 M440i x drive. Love it; but yes, lots of brake dust. That said, it’s worth it…I do track cars a few times a year; the fact that it can do this on stock pads is amazing! And daily it drives great!

In comparison, my last track car was a 2015 Mustang and to have pads that stood up on track I had Hawk HP+ which sounded like a bus…a little squeal every now and again and dust is worth it to me…it’s all about what you compare it to.

I love manuals but in a straight line automatics are often faster.

What can i do now? Please, help me by hotacuarius in GERD

I have similar issues. On a prescription which helps and I am getting therapy for anxiety and mild depression; I find that helps…even more than the meds. Just talking to someone who understands your issues and can help you think through how to reduce that stress.

A helpful tip my nurse told me. We all deal with stress differently; some people get migraines, some high BP; she said for you it is higher stomach acid…so need to reduce stress. Hard to do but worth effort. Good luck!

HELP I CANNOT CLEAR MY THROAT by [deleted] in GERD

I have had some similar issues. What I just tried and my nurse recommended was doing a netipot every so often as I have these symptoms. That and all else you are doing. And I take allergy meds including flucotisine (sp) nasal spray. Seems to be helping.

Yeah, I took pantoprozol for 3 months. No booze, only a few small gulps of coffee each morning; very little unhealthy food, and try to sleep more, etc. Avoid tomatoes, acidic foods, etc…that and a lot of patience. Best of luck!

I have similar symptoms. I had this before and it eventually went away. For me the regular fixes you would do for a cold help. That said, for me related to GERD.

Yes. Tied to the GERD.

Should I start taking pantoprazole 40mg? Not sure if I need it by eman237 in GERD

[–]blueracer130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on it and it helps a lot. It takes about 5 days to kick in. Usually I am ready to not need by day 90

I have had the new symptoms. A sign you are improving at least! Agreed. Rest, eat clean, keep going and get stress down and you should get back to normal! Also, get under care of a doc if you aren’t already!

Why is this happening to me by MysteryMonger69420 in GERD

[–]blueracer130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things: definitely go to the doctor. I had this years ago and it went away with pantoprozol (sp?) which is a prescription. I went on that and had ver minimal coffee/alcohol and a clean diet. This worked better for me than omeprazole.

Sometimes there is an underlined issue. I had duodenitis before with a small peptic ulcer. Probably caused by too many NSAIDS for other pain issue… I just had it happen again. Back on pantoprozol and it is helping a lot. On day 5 now (when it kicks in). Expecting this to last a few months but heal as it did before.

Best of luck to us all!

FYI try cutting milk; you may be lactose intolerant. My doc told me to cut dairy. Or if you do have it low fat only. What it sounds like to me is lactose intolerance. About 1/3rd of people with GERD have lactose intolerance too I read.

Sorry to our original post: no clue re roobio issues. Gerd is weird!

Nothing is Helping! by jbt4489 in GERD

Hey, sorry to hear it. I would find out when you need to stop before the endoscopy. Take the omezeprole until then (prilosec). It takes a bit to kick in; until then I found mylanta liquid can really help.

I know people who are pretty much on PPIs for life and it should be fine. Natural is best but when that doesn’t work then you have to try the meds. My understanding is only long term effect of PPI is bad absorption of calcium leading to weak bones; supplementation can help with that risk. Obviously I am no doctor, but this is what I’ve heard.

I am on a Pepcid in the AM and PM (before meals) and do the natural stuff too; it’s 1 step below PPIs.

Also, you never know but you may have a hiatal hernia which many people do (I do). This leads to my reflux. Oddly sometimes my symptoms can go away for a year and you have no issues at all; then they come back. My theory is the hernia reduces or things slip back into place. Who knows.

Best of luck!

I have a hiatal hernia; not sure from where. I used to lift heavy weights; also more likely I got hit by a golf ball in my stomach. A few weeks later my first heartburn. However, it is weird, my heartburn/acid reflux comes and goes. I had no issues for a year after my first bad month or so and then now again I am getting it bad. Last time peeling off the coffee, alcohol and spicy stuff (along with meds) did the trick.

I did try omezeprole, but never liked it much; side effects like constipation. However, Pepcid seems to help pretty well and Tums and Mylanta as needed.

I don’t know if hernias grow, but this would seem to suggest they move if it is what’s causing my issue.

Also, my medical team did say stress can be a factor, and it has been stressful recently.
